We have an exciting opportunity for Service Engineer – Propulsion & Controls with Kongsberg Maritime India. We are looking for engineers who can join our team and work closely with team leads and peers on different projects.
Responsibilities
- Technically responsible for specific tasks or a series of well-defined technical tasks requiring leadership and delivery against programme milestones.
- Handle tasks with some novelty and ambiguity, applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement, transfer of best practices, and adherence to processes and procedures.
- Understand how day-to-day responsibilities influence customer satisfaction and delivery performance.
- Make judgments based on practice and precedents; demonstrate required technical competencies.
- Assess technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, and evaluate options where maintenance solutions are not always clear-cut.
- Understand how the team integrates with and contributes to broader business objectives to achieve set goals.
- Provide guidance in the field, share knowledge, and support on-the-job development of others where appropriate.
- Interact with customers and internal stakeholders to reflect views accurately and communicate effectively on technical topics.
- Regularly exchange information with supervisors, colleagues, and customers to manage queries and concerns related to on-the-job activities.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse audiences.
Qualifications and Skills
- B.E./Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in the maritime industry with a good track record.
- Strong understanding of products, systems, their functionality, and applications.
- Meticulous and methodical approach to case handling.
- K knows how to support and develop others on the job where appropriate.
- Good communication skills with excellent verbal and written English.
- Self-driven, focused, and a team player.
Travel
- Extensive travel as required.
- Prepared to travel on short notice.
- Possess valid travel documents.
- Willingness to travel to any part of the world where the company deems it safe to travel.
