Seattle New Media, LLC is seeking two motivated interns to support our SEO team in building high-quality backlinks. You will work directly with our SEO Lead to grow our brands' search visibility on Google and AI-driven answer engines.

This hands-on role offers exposure to on-page optimization, content, and keyword research while you learn by doing. The position is a 6-month remote internship with a monthly stipend of Rs 8,000.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a digital marketing or SEO program.

Responsibilities

• Research high-authority websites for backlink opportunities.
• Execute outreach via email and other channels.

• Support AEO efforts by earning mentions on AI reference sources.
• Track prospects and links in a shared tracker with metrics.
• Verify live links, index status, and compliance with guidelines.

About The Role Seattle New Media is hiring two motivated interns to support our SEO team in building high-quality backlinks. Working directly with our SEO Lead, you will help grow the search authority and visibility of our brands across Google and AI-driven answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). This is a hands-on role built for someone who wants to apply what they have learned in a digital-marketing or SEO program to real, live campaigns and see the impact of their work week over week.

While your core focus will be backlink building, you will also get exposure to the wider SEO picture — on-page optimization, content, keyword research, and technical basics — so you build a well-rounded skill set. It is an ideal launchpad for anyone serious about a career in SEO and modern search.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify relevant, high-authority websites, blogs, directories, and communities for backlink opportunities.
• Execute outreach to prospects via email and other channels, follow up consistently, and maintain professional communication.
• Build backlinks through guest posting, business listings, directory submissions, resource pages, forums, Q&A sites, and profile creation.
• Support AEO efforts by earning mentions and citations on the sources that AI answer engines reference.
• Track every prospect and link in a shared tracker — status, domain authority, anchor text, and live URL.
• Verify that placed links are live, indexed, and follow campaign guidelines; flag toxic or low-quality sites.
• Assist the SEO team with related tasks such as on-page optimization, content support, and keyword research as needed.
• Report progress weekly against agreed targets and share learnings with the team.

Who We Are Looking For

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a digital marketing course, with a focus on SEO and AEO, from a recognized training institution.
• Working understanding of what backlinks are and why they matter for rankings.
• Strong written English for outreach and clear, professional communication.
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and organized record keeping.
• Reliable internet connection and a personal computer for remote work.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, or similar.
• Exposure to email outreach or link-building tools.
• Basic understanding of AEO/GEO and how AI search engines cite sources.
• Self-driven attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. What you will gain
• Real-time, hands-on experience running live SEO and backlink campaigns — not classroom theory.
• Direct mentorship from an experienced SEO Lead and exposure to current SEO & AEO best practices.
• A performance review at 3 months, with the opportunity to extend the internship or convert to a full-time role based on performance.
• A monthly stipend of Rs 8,000 and a completion certificate.

Terms

• This is a 6-month, full-time remote internship with a monthly stipend of Rs 8,000.
• Performance will be formally reviewed at the 3-month mark.
• Strong performers may have the internship extended or be offered a full-time position at the end of the term.
• Two positions are open.
• Working hours: 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM
