Job summary

Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru, India, seeks an experienced Senior Web Developer (Front-end) to design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using Angular and related frameworks. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable features and ensure performance across devices.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of web development experience, strong knowledge of HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, and experience with REST APIs, Azure services, and modern design patterns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; proven 5+ years as Web Developer.
  • Strong portfolio of web applications; proficient with Angular and frameworks (React/Vue.js).
  • Solid HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript; RESTful APIs; security best practices.
  • Familiar with design patterns (MVC, REST, SOLID, DDD) and Git; Azure services experience.

Role Overview

We are looking for motivated individuals to deliver innovative digital solutions through design, development, deployment, and support. The Senior Web Developer (Front-end) role involves developing, testing, and maintaining web applications using Angular and other front-end frameworks. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. The expectation for this role is 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key responsibilities:
  • Leading the design and development of complex web solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Create and enhance existing code implementing industry best practices around software design patterns to ensure the codebase is maintainable and scalable.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Implement responsive design principles to create applications that work across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Integrate with back-end services and APIs hosted on Microsoft Azure.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain current and competitive.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and able to demonstrate high proficiency in programming fundamentals.
  • At least 5 years of proven working experience as a Web Developer with a strong portfolio of web applications.
  • Skilled in Angular and/or other frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET Razor Pages, React, Vue.js).
  • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Skilled in consuming RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
  • Experience implementing security best practices in web development.
  • Skilled in recognizing, applying, and implementing design patterns and best practices for web development to enhance code quality, maintainability, and scalability. (MVC, REST, SOLID principles, DDD, etc.)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automated testing. Knowledge and experience applying multiple levels of testing (Unit, Integration, and End to End)
  • Experience with monitoring & logging application performance in cloud environments
  • Experience with server-side rendering and progressive web apps (PWAs).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
