Senior Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer to join a global cybersecurity team. This role focuses on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-level WAF solutions to protect applications across cloud environments. You’ll work closely with security, infrastructure, and development teams to strengthen defenses and streamline operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead WAF deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting across applications.
• Implement and manage standardized WAF rule sets and policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex security issues.
• Create documentation, monitoring, and reporting frameworks.
• Support incident response and service requests.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in security, network, or application security.
• Hands‑on expertise with cloud-based WAFs (Imperva, Akamai, AWS, Azure).
• Strong understanding of network architecture and web security principles.
• Experience with Terraform, Git, Confluence, and Jira preferred.
• Scripting experience (Python, Ruby, or Golang) a plus.
• Relevant certifications (CCSP, CCSS, or cloud certs) are an advantage.
