Persistent is seeking an experienced Senior VMware NSX-T SME to support and manage large-scale enterprise network virtualization environments. The role acts as the highest escalation point for NSX-T issues and ensures platform stability, security, availability, and performance across enterprise infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of networking and virtualization experience, hands-on NSX-T Data Center administration, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

AboutPosition:

We are seeking an experienced Senior VMware NSX-T Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support and manage large-scale enterprise network virtualization environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in VMware NSX-T operations, troubleshooting, incident management, network virtualization, and platform lifecycle management. This role acts as the highest level of technical escalation for NSX-T-related issues and plays a critical role in maintaining platform stability, security, availability, and performance across enterprise infrastructure environments.

WhatYou'llDo:

• Provide L2 and L3 operational support for enterprise VMware NSX-T environments.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical Severity 1 and Severity 2 incidents.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for NSX-T-related technical issues.
• Manage and support NSX Managers, Edge Nodes, Edge Clusters, Tier-0 and Tier-1 Gateways.
• Administer and support Distributed Firewall (DFW), NAT, VPN, Load Balancing, and Micro-Segmentation components.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Execute NSX-T upgrades, patching, migration, and platform lifecycle management activities.
• Monitor infrastructure health, platform performance, capacity utilization, and service availability.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Virtualization, Infrastructure, and VMware/Broadcom support teams.
• Participate in change management, release management, and production support activities.
• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
• Perform packet analysis and advanced network troubleshooting.
• Support network virtualization architecture improvements and operational optimization initiatives.
• Drive platform stability, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement efforts.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior engineers and support teams.

ExpertiseYou'llBring:

• 8-12 years of experience in enterprise networking, virtualization, and infrastructure support environments.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience administering and supporting VMware NSX‑T Data Center environments.
• Strong expertise in network virtualization technologies and enterprise production operations.
• Hands‑on experience managing NSX Managers, Edge Nodes, Edge Clusters, and Gateway services.
• Deep understanding of Distributed Firewall (DFW), NAT, VPN, Load Balancing, and Micro‑Segmentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience within large‑scale production environments.
• Solid networking knowledge including BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and GENEVE.
• Experience working with Juniper SRX firewalls and enterprise network security architectures.
• Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience performing packet captures, log analysis, and root cause investigations.
• Knowledge of network security, segmentation, access control, and firewall policy management.
• Experience supporting mission‑critical infrastructure and high‑availability environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management.
• Experience working with monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure management tools.
• Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or similar technologies is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and globally distributed teams.
