Role Description

The Senior Veterinarian MVSc role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune City. The Senior Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical care to companion and/or farm animals, including conducting clinical examinations, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatment plans, and performing routine and advanced procedures as needed. Daily responsibilities include supervising junior veterinary staff, guiding clinical decision-making, reviewing case histories, and ensuring adherence to medical protocols and ethical standards. The role involves communicating clearly with pet parents and stakeholders, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with clinic management to improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes. The Senior Veterinarian is also expected to contribute to continuous learning initiatives, participate in case discussions, and support community outreach or client education activities as required.

Qualifications

• Advanced veterinary clinical skills, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical or procedural competence appropriate to a Senior MVSc-level role.
• Strong skills in patient examination, medical record documentation, and adherence to evidence-based veterinary practices and industry guidelines.
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior veterinarians and support staff, with a collaborative approach to case management and team-based care.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining medical conditions and treatment options to clients in clear, empathetic, and accessible language.
• Commitment to animal welfare, ethical clinical practice, and continuous professional development within the veterinary field.
• Master's degree in Veterinary Science (MVSc) from a recognized institution; valid registration with the appropriate veterinary council or licensing authority.
• Experience working in busy veterinary clinics or hospitals; exposure to small animal or mixed practice settings is highly beneficial.
• Comfort with basic digital tools and clinic management software; willingness to align with VetXplore's growth-focused and client-centered culture.
