Job summary

InOpTra Digital in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior UI Designer to shape in-car experiences, evolve design systems, and prototype interactions across digital and physical touchpoints. About the Role

You will be part of the Digital & Interaction team — a cross-functional group dedicated to creating seamless interaction experiences across both digital and physical environments. The team collaborates closely with other design disciplines, including Exterior Design, Interior Design, and Brand Design, to deliver cohesive user experiences throughout the vehicle ecosystem. As a Senior UI Designer, you will contribute to the development of current and future in-car experiences by creating and evolving visual systems, iconography, UI components, layouts, and interactive prototypes. The role spans the entire design process — from developing and maintaining our design system to designing and prototyping digital products that integrate seamlessly with physical controls and touchpoints.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain scalable design systems and UI component libraries
• Design interfaces and interaction flows for upcoming in-car experiences
• Translate complex function requests into user-friendly experiences
• Deliver pixel-perfect, production-ready designs and ensure design quality through development
• Communicate ideas and work effectively to team members and stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and usability
• Good knowledge of defining user tests for digital interfaces
• Ability to create visually appealing and intuitive interfaces for digital touchpoints
• Good knowledge of creating detailed UI animations
• Strong ability in icon creation
• Experience creating and maintaining design systems, including specifications for implementation
• Ability to lead others within design
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of designers, researchers, engineers, strategists, and product managers throughout the design process
• A diverse portfolio highlighting projects that demonstrate experience in crafting digital user interfaces
• Experience in Blender is a big advantage
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools (e.g. Figma AI plugins, generative image/icon tools) to accelerate ideation and concepting is a plus
• Experience designing interfaces or interaction patterns for AI-driven features (e.g. voice assistants, smart in-car experiences) is a plus

Additional Information

• Travel required, including approx. 1–2 trips per year to China
