Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 5+ years in API and UI automation, focusing on performance testing. You will design and maintain automation frameworks, build robust test suites with Playwright, Cucumber, and Postman, and collaborate in Agile teams to ensure quality across RESTful services and microservices.

Ideal candidates have strong Java/TypeScript skills, experience with cloud environments, and a proactive approach to problem solving within DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in API Automation Testing, UI Automation Testing and Performance testing.
• Ability to create and maintain the API framework and UI framework.
• Hands-on experience with UI automation using Playwright.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript/Playwright and Cypress for UI testing.
• Hands-on experience in API testing using Cucumber with Java or SoapUI or Postman or Insomnia.
• Expertise in integration testing around REST calls, API calls, microservices.
• Experience with Java for writing automation tests.
• Ability to build reference applications & review and edit API documentation.

Responsibilities

• The Position holder is responsible for API and UI Automation Testing, with performance testing, functions as a QA Automation engineer, and assists in automation and manual testing
• Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams

Requirements

• Overall 5+ years of experience in API Automation Testing, UI Automation Testing and Performance testing
• Candidate should be able to create and maintain the API framework and UI framework
• Very good hands‑on experience on UI automation using Playwright
• Experience with TypeScript / JavaScript / Playwright and Cypress for UI testing
• Hands on experience in API testing – using Cucumber with Java or SoapUI or Postman or Insomnia
• Expertise in integration testing around REST calls, API calls, microservices
• Experience with Java for writing automation tests
• Ability to build reference applications & review and edit API documentation
• Ability to understand the Ops deployment scenario to build appropriate test cases
• Hands on experience on performance tool
• Working knowledge of cloud is preferable – experience with cloud environment, preference for Google Cloud/Azure
• Hands on experience with Google Dev Tools
• Experience working in Agile teams
• Good understanding of project life cycle with Automation architecture
• Degree and qualification level – BE/BTech/MTech/MCA
• Years of specific experience – 4+ Years as an automation QA
• Knowledge of specific systems – Angular Application and Rest API, DevOps
• Desirable experience/skills/languages – Java, NodeJs, TypeScript, JavaScript, Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, Postman, Puppeteer, Protractor, JMeter, Cloud technologies, Google Dev Tools
