Job summary

Vertiv in India is looking for an engineer to develop customized electrical hardware requirements for UPS systems and other power equipment. The role involves optimizing designs, maintaining electrical drawings, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Candidates will work closely with project management and act as subject matter experts for controls and monitoring systems. Responsibilities include circuit debugging, validating prototypes, and attending project meetings to provide feedback.

• Work with project management on progress tracking.
• Attend project meetings for feedback and design updates.
• Become a subject matter expert for controls and monitoring.
• Support product field issues requiring technical analysis.
• Resolve issues with PCB fabrication vendors.

Responsibilities

Develop customized electrical hardware requirements for industrial UPS systems, Static Transfer Switches, Power Distribution, other power equipment based on customer technical requirements and integrating cross functional input.

• Engineer and specify components and devices comprising the controls and monitoring system for each project.
• Contribute to, update, and maintain electrical drawings, maintain and create electrical three-line and circuit level schematic/connection diagrams.
• Identify relevant electrical standards and provide design and documentation to demonstrate compliance with standards, listings, certifications and/or per customer requirements.
• Review PCB schematics and layout drawings and validate against specifications and overall system requirements.
• Validation and debugging of circuit designs and board prototypes using test equipment including power analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Optimize electrical designs and printed circuit assemblies for performance, manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and cost.
• Work with project management to track progress and task/milestone status.
• Attend project meetings as needed to provide feedback and capture design update items.
• Become subject matter expert for STS and PDU controls and monitoring.
• Support product field issues when technical deep dive effort is needed.
• Resolve issues raised by PCB fabrication house/PCB vendor.
