Job summary

Emerson is seeking a test engineer to validate the Ovation Digital Twin and related plant equipment models. You will design, execute and automate tests for coal/combined cycle power plant simulations and provide hands-on coaching to newer team members.

You will collaborate with developers and testers, ensure adherence to engineering standards, and log defects in the tracking system while building robust test scenarios for various test environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Coal/Combined Cycle power plant operation/modeling.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with various testing methodologies (functional, system, compatibility, performance).
• Knowledge of agile development/testing methodologies.
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in mechanical/chemical/electrical engineering.
• ISTQB Foundation certificate.
• Experience performing stoichiometry calculations for chemical reactions (e.g., fuel combustion).
• Knowledge of Distributed Control system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform smoke tests, first pass tests and regression testing with the team and report findings.
• Design and enhance test scenarios and test cases for different applications.
• Develop and maintain hardware/virtual test setups that are part of automated/manual test environments.
• Log defects in project-defined defect tracking tool.
• Read and follow relevant project engineering practice and engineering standards documents.
• Collaborate and coordinate with developers and other testers.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Perform validation of Ovation Digital Twin and its Tools which represent mathematical models of plant equipment for power generation plant simulators

For This Role, You Will Need:
