Job summary

You will manage supplier development, use root-cause tools, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver improvements, lower costs, and scalable value. Willingness to travel extensively is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, metallurgical, or related engineering discipline.
• At least 10+ years in procurement or manufacturing with supplier development experience.
• Knowledge of production technologies and quality validation concepts.

Lead strategic supplier partnerships to deliver manufacturing excellence, quality performance, and scalable growth.

Lead supplier development and industrialization initiatives to align manufacturing maturity, quality, capacity, and operational excellence with business growth. As the primary interface between local suppliers and global stakeholders, partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams (procurement, quality, engineering, logistics).

What You'll Do

• Supplier Development: Serve as the key interface between Hilti and the local suppliers to ensure manufacturing processes, quality systems, process controls, and production plans meet Hilti requirements and expectations.
• Agility and creativity to address supply issues when they arise, timely and efficiently. Leverage both root cause analysis tools (such as 8D, 5 Why, and fishbone analysis) and negotiation skills.
• Build Relationship with key stakeholders within suppliers, market and sales organization, to drive relevant topics, incl. SPC productivity, product availability, lower throughput times and quality.
• Project Management and operational discipline: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of projects in designated markets; align priorities, manage dependencies, and ensure milestones, deliverables, and business objectives are achieved.
• Deliver bottom line financial productivity: Continuously seek opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency end-to-end; partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement measures that enhance competitiveness, reduce cost, improve scalability, and create sustainable business value.

What You'll Bring

• Education: Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, metallurgical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience: At least +10 with strong procurement or manufacturing background. Additional relevant experience: supplier development, quality, process engineering, or technical project management.
• Product and process expertise: Strong knowledge of key production technologies, such as: forming technologies, machining, heat and surface treatment.
• Quality and validation expertise: Strong understanding of SPC, quality systems, process validation and capability, PFMEA, control plans, and structured root-cause analysis.
• Influence and challenge: Able to influence without authority, challenge suppliers constructively, and build credibility through technical expertise and fact-based decisions.
• Hands‑on mindset: Willing to work frequently on the shop floor, examine process details, and support implementation at the point of manufacture.
• Problem solving and systems thinking: Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify systemic causes, dependencies, and cross‑functional connections.
• Project leadership: Strong project‑management mindset, clear communication, disciplined follow‑up, and cross‑functional alignment skills.
• Mobility: Willing and able to travel up to 60%, including frequent supplier visits.
• Language: Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
