Job summary

EY India invites finance professionals to join the BTS - PCS US Individual Tax team as Assistant Manager in Bengaluru. You’ll work on U.S. tax compliance and advisory for HNI, Mobility, and GMS under EY Global Delivery Services.

You will lead tax return reviews, analyze balance sheets and prepare taxable income statements, driving project economics and efficiency. Strong English, MS Office and OneSource skills required; 3+ years in a Big 4 environment preferred.

Qualifications

• Very high proficiency in U.S. individual tax (1040) and related issues.
• Good English skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Commerce/finance education required.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax return preparation and review complex U.S. tax returns.
• Analyze trial balance, general ledger and tax sensitive accounts.
• Prepare statements of taxable income and tax adjustments.
• Drive engagement economics: manage costs and budgets.
• Identify opportunities to bring more work to EY GDS and EY.
• Supervise day-to-day operations and milestones with minimal supervision.
• Develop engagement and teamwork and contribute to process improvements.

Your key responsibilities

• Client responsibilities Demonstrate a high level of proficiency of tax technical knowledge relevant to U.S. individual (1040), HNI or Mobility/GMS demonstrate an understanding of more complex technical issues Also have good understanding Analyzing Trial balance, general ledger and tax sensitive accounts. Demonstrate an understanding of more complex technical issues Drive the tax return preparation process, review complex tax returns and other tax deliverables Able to prepare the statement of taxable income, necessary tax adjustments, Tax effect accounting and consolidation groups, Thin Cap adjustments etc. Good knowledge of OneSource software Establish and maintain long-term relationships with the clients and internal colleagues Explore opportunities to bring more work to the GDS and to EY by consistently providing high quality work Supervise day to day operations and engagement milestones with little or no manager involvement Demonstrate leadership skills in developing the highest performing teams Help Senior Managers and Managers with advisory and ad-hoc projects Develop engagement and financial management skills by managing own and/or other’s impact on project economics, including controlling costs, monitoring budget to actual differences Contribute process improvement ideas leading to higher quality service delivery to the client or greater efficiency in the compliance process Identify opportunities to leverage information and resources across assignments and teams
