Job summary

Cornerstone OnDemand is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Hyderabad to manage Windows Server environments and VMware infrastructure. The role involves patch management, high availability, AD DS, DNS/DHCP, and GPO design, with automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Bash, and IaC tools.

You will implement and maintain scalable infrastructure, monitor health, perform root-cause analysis, and support upgrades and migrations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in systems engineering and infrastructure management.
• Expertise with Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and AD DS.
• Strong virtualization skills with VMware ESXi/vCenter and HA solutions.
• Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and Bash.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows OS systems and VMware virtualization environments.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Monitor health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and domain migrations.
• Develop automation infrastructure and scripts to standardize configurations.
• Coordinate with teams to deploy code and provision infrastructure across environments.

Position Overview

We are looking for 7-10 years experienced Senior Systems Engineer to manage and maintain our infrastructure services, primarily focusing on Windows OS systems as well as VMware virtualization environments.

In this role you will ..

System Administration

• Perform system upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning.
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Install, configure, administer, and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Monitor server health, performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform operating system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
• Manage Windows Failover Clustering and high-availability solutions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and application issues.
• Administer Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
• Design and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
• Manage Active Directory Sites and Services.
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP.
• Perform domain migrations, trusts, and forest administration.
• Implement and maintain Active Directory security best practices.

Virtualization (VMware)

• Install, configure, and manage VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and other VMware products.
• Manage virtual machines (VMs), including provisioning, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Monitor and optimize the performance and capacity of the VMware environment.
• Perform ESX host upgrades, patching, and addressing the vulnerabilities and remediation steps in VMware components.

Automation And Scripting

• Develop automation scripts using tools like PowerShell, Python, Ansible and bash.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for automated provisioning of infrastructure.
• Automate configuration management to ensure that all systems maintain consistent settings across multiple environments.
• Develop automated processes for deploying code, systems provisioning and services to different environments.

You’ve Got What It Takes If You Have…

• 5+ years of Windows Server Administration experience.
• 5+ years of Active Directory Administration. Windows Active Directly Management.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and other virtualization technologies.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python and Ansible and Puppet.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other core networking protocols.
• Experience in planning and implementing hardware upgrades, including firmware updates, and troubleshooting hardware failures.
• Expertise in troubleshooting system issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes.
• Ability to manage and resolve incidents quickly while maintaining system stability and minimizing downtime.
• AWS Experience in configuring and managing cloud services, infrastructure provisioning, and cloud networking.
• Proficiency in automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or cloud-native automation tools.
