Job summary

MarketOne International is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to secure and optimize our endpoint, identity, and infrastructure systems. You will partner with CIT Engg to build resilient platforms and with the global support team to resolve issues quickly.

You will serve as an escalation point for the help desk, drive root-cause analysis, and mentor junior team members while ensuring reliability across on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on virtualization experience with Hyper-V or VMware.
• Experienced with Windows Server, Active Directory and Azure AD.
• Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Azure, Office 365.
• Server hardware maintenance experience, ideally HP servers.
• Strong backup and storage understanding.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to speed up scripting and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of AI-driven monitoring and security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Handle business-critical IT infrastructure, projects, tasks, systems, and cloud technologies, keeping platforms available and performing under daily production load.
• Monitor data centre health, respond to hardware issues, and maintain servers as capacity requires.
• Perform periodic hardware maintenance (PCs, servers, switches, firewalls) to reduce downtime.
• Analyze network/infrastructure data to identify inefficiencies and capacity constraints.
• Ensure network and system security and performance, tuning configurations as needed.
• Audit backups and other systems, providing evidence and support for audits.
• Initiate and own projects within broader initiatives, delivering outcomes end-to-end.
• Train and lead junior administrators and develop SOPs and knowledge bases.

Role Summary

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will have a crucial role in helping our internal teams stay secure, connected, and productive by managing the endpoint, identity, and infrastructure systems they depend on every day.

You are not afraid to dig into the detail when something breaks. You will work closely with the infrastructure engineering team (CIT Engg) to build a solid ongoing understanding of our systems, and with the global support team (CIT) to prioritize and resolve issues.

You will be an escalation point for the help desk and other teams, helping troubleshoot, identify the root cause, and provide technical support when needed.

Must-Have

Technical Experience

• Hands-on experience with virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware), Windows Server, Active Directory and Azure AD, and PowerShell
• Hands-on experience with Exchange and Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Azure, Office 365, VOIP, SQL Server, and core networking
• Hands-on experience with server hardware maintenance, ideally including HP servers and switches
• A clear understanding of backup and storage, and familiarity with remote management systems (RDS)
• Practical experience using AI-assisted tools, such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude, to speed up scripting, documentation, and troubleshooting
• Working understanding of AI-driven monitoring and security tooling, including anomaly detection and automated threat triage within modern endpoint and infrastructure platforms

Certifications and Domain Knowledge

• Relevant IT certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, MCITP, A+, or Network+
• Good understanding of PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, and cloud security, with prior exposure to data centre services, cloud-based applications, or AWS/Azure considered an advantage
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 controls, process, audits, and evidence collection
• Experience with Veeam, Synology, or EMC for backup and storage considered an advantage

Professional Skills And Experience

• A passion for helping people succeed with technology, with excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, paired with intense curiosity about how systems work and a "can do" attitude
• Ability and desire to create and manage knowledge base articles, documentation, and SOPs, including developing and conducting group training
• Team leading or team handling experience, and flexibility to work extended hours or weekends with minimal notice for projects and outages
• Bachelor's degree and 8 to 12 years of experience

Roles And Responsibilities

Infrastructure and Systems Management

• Handle business-critical IT infrastructure, projects, tasks, systems, and cloud technologies, keeping platforms available and performing under everyday production load
• Monitor data centre health using existing monitoring tools, respond promptly to hardware issues, and help build, test, and maintain new servers as capacity and projects require
• Perform periodic maintenance of hardware, including PCs, servers, switches, and firewalls, to keep the environment running reliably and reduce unplanned downtime

Network and Security Operations

• Proactively analyze network and infrastructure data to identify inefficiencies, capacity constraints, and emerging problems before they affect the business
• Take responsibility for network systems security and performance, tuning configurations and closing gaps as the environment evolves

Backup, Audit, and Compliance Support

• Perform routine and scheduled audits of backups and other systems and technologies, confirming jobs complete successfully and data is recoverable
• Provide the evidence, documentation, and hands-on support that internal and external audits need, from control walkthroughs to point-in-time verification

Project and Initiative Delivery

• Support project management by initiating and owning projects and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative, managing deliverables end to end and keeping stakeholders informed

Support, Escalation, and Team Development

• Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed, acting as a senior point of escalation
• Train and lead the team on new systems, protocols, and best practices, building the bench strength of more junior administrators
