TE Connectivity’s Medical business unit seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to act as an end-to-end technical integrator across the product lifecycle. You will translate customer needs into verifiable requirements, manage interfaces and risks, and guide verification and validation activities with senior engineers and SMEs.
You will collaborate across design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to maintain lifecycle continuity, ensure traceability, and drive data-driven improvements using
TE’s Medical business unit, part of the Industrial Solutions segment, offers medical device OEMs, a complete product offering, and capability portfolio for minimally invasive, imaging, surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic devices. With more than 350 design engineers and a global presence in all key medical device hubs, we are a premier partner to the world’s leading medical technology companies for their next-generation medical devices. We are experts in all aspects of device design and manufacture, from access & delivery solutions for interventional medicine, to sensors & connectors for surgical applications. Our innovative solutions enable groundbreaking medical therapies such as treating heart disease without opening the body, placing microscopic devices into brain arteries, and powering robotic surgery.
The Senior Systems Engineer will act as an end-to-end technical integrator across the product lifecycle, connecting component-level inputs with system-level requirements and lifecycle considerations. Working with senior technical engineers, Principal Engineers, and subject-matter experts who lead the deep understanding of the customer’s system/application and how TE’s components interact within that system, the Systems Engineer will take that understanding and provide the discipline around requirements, interfaces, and traceability, ensuring that requirements, risks, and mitigations are carried through component design, process development, automation, verification, and validation.
This role requires sufficient technical understanding to engage effectively with technical specialists, evaluate interactions and implications across disciplines, and translate ambiguous customer and stakeholder needs into structured, traceable requirements. The Systems Engineer will maintain an end-to-end system perspective and coordinate specialist inputs rather than serve as the primary deep-domain expert for individual components, technologies, or manufacturing processes.
Legacy Learning Integration: Systematically analyze previously released products and apply historical production data and manufacturing learning to new product development. Explicitly connect that learning back to requirements, risk controls, and verification strategy to prevent recurring issues in new product launches.
Ability to understand and integrate simulation, modeling, and engineering analysis outputs into requirements, risk assessment, design decisions, and verification strategy.
ERP data mining, yield analytics, process gap identification
Functional, non-functional, and interface requirements authoring; requirements decomposition; RTM ownership; interface management; and risk/mitigation traceability.
DFM, PFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, nonconformance management, and CAPA
ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288
Lean PD gate processes (G0–G5) ; alignment of gate milestones with requirements, risk management, engineering analysis, and verification and validation deliverables.
AI-enabled FMEA tools, simulation platforms, ERP data analytics, and digital twin concepts/awareness.
