Job summary

Synechron Technologies is seeking a Senior System Administrator to manage VMware environments, storage and backup platforms, and OS deployments. You will monitor systems, patch servers, and ensure reliable incident response, often working night shifts as part of a global team.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, ITIL familiarity, and cross-functional communication to support enterprise apps and cloud services across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in system administration or engineering.
• Hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server, and enterprise storage.
• Familiarity with backup systems and monitoring tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting across VMware components.
• Support storage and backup platforms including Dell PowerStore, Unity, Cohesity, and AWS FSx.
• Support Linux and Windows Server environments, including patching and deployment.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure continuity and coverage.
• Maintain documentation and update runbooks.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, escalating as needed.

Job description

System Admin Responsibilities

• Perform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting across VMware, including vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, vRA, SRM, VDI, and vSAN.
• Support storage systems including Dell PowerStore, Unity, Cohesity, and AWS FSx.
• Support backup platforms including Avamar, IDPA, Dell Data Domain, and Backupify.
• Support Linux and Windows Server environments, including patching, deployment, and clustering.
• Support Citrix technologies including CVAD, NetScaler, XenDesktop, and ControlUp.
• Support FTP and file-transfer processes including WSFTP, PGP, and job scheduling.
• Monitor systems using SolarWinds, Data Insights, CloudIQ, and related tools.
• Support Azure AD, Power BI, SharePoint, and other enterprise applications.
• Execute patch management, system updates, and routine maintenance.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, escalating as needed.
• Maintain documentation and update runbooks.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure continuity and coverage.

Experience Required
