Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Supervisor for Census Data Stewards to lead a data stewardship team and drive governance across Master Data and operational datasets. You will manage calendars, align with stakeholders, and ensure data quality and contract compliance across the product data ecosystem.

The role requires 8–12 years of experience (or 5+ with advanced degrees) in data governance, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

What You Will Do:

The Data Steward Manager leads the operational data stewardship function supporting Product Data. This role is responsible for managing a team of Data Stewards and ensuring that the processes, controls, and governance mechanisms required to maintain high-quality operational and master data are effectively implemented and continuously improved.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage a team of Data Stewards, providing direction, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure day-to-day data stewardship operations meet defined SLAs and data quality KPIs.
• Own and maintain data stewardship work instructions, operating procedures, and business rules, ensuring documentation remains current and aligned with evolving processes and systems.
• Establish and monitor operational controls and dashboards to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Oversee provider compliance with defined data contracts, escalating non-compliance and ensuring accountable teams address issues and align with agreed data standards and delivery commitments.
• Ensure proper governance and maintenance of critical Master Data tables.
• Oversee investigation and resolution of recurring or complex data quality issues, ensuring appropriate escalation and root cause analysis.
• Facilitate Quality Clinics and governance reviews to address recurring data issues and drive preventive actions.
• Represent the Product Data organization in governance discussions with Data Custodians, ensuring alignment on data standards, stewardship processes, and data quality expectations.
• Translate operational challenges into process improvements, automation opportunities, and strengthened data validation controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve data stewardship workflows, monitoring frameworks, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure the stewardship team is properly trained on tools, business rules, and governance practices.

Expectations of the Role:

Success in this role will be measured through:

• Sustained compliance with data quality KPIs (completeness, accuracy, timeliness).
• Effective team performance and operational delivery of the Data Stewardship function.
• Reduction of recurring data issues through preventive controls and process improvements.
• Well-maintained and current data stewardship procedures and work instructions.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders to ensure data provider compliance and process alignment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• B.Sc in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or B.Sc in Computer Science or B.B.A in Aviation Management or B.B.A in Business Analytics.
• A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8-12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience managing and developing a team, including providing direction, coaching, performance feedback, and workload prioritization.
• Experience driving operational performance of a team against defined SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards.
• Experience establishing or managing data governance, data stewardship, or operational data management processes.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional issue resolution with data providers, system owners, and operational stakeholders.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience managing data stewardship or master data management teams in an enterprise environment.
• Experience implementing data quality monitoring frameworks, dashboards, or operational controls.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms or operational systems such as SAP.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives to strengthen data quality and operational efficiency.

Shifts/Work Hours:

Shift Timings: 12.30pm to 9.30pm IST

This role requires flexibility to accommodate stakeholder interactions and support business requirements. Onsite: Hybrid.
