Job summary

SYSTRA India seeks a Senior Structure Designer to lead design philosophies for viaducts, underground stations, and long-span bridges, ensuring safety and durability across metro projects.

The role involves technical vetting of structural models (MIDAS/STAAD.Pro), coordinating interfaces between Civil, P-Way, Signaling and MEP, and guiding innovative construction methods in dense urban environments. 23+ years of experience and 7+ years in metro/rail projects are required.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
• Total experience of 23+ years.
• At least 7+ years in relevant metro/railway structural projects.

Responsibilities

• Design leadership: approve design philosophies for viaducts, underground stations, and long-span bridges.
• Technical vetting: review structural models (MIDAS/STAAD.Pro) and GFC drawings for safety and durability.
• Interface management: coordinate boundaries between Civil, P-Way, Signaling and MEP to prevent onsite clashes.
• Constructability & innovation: oversee precast segmental launching and U-girder placement in dense urban environments.
• Stakeholder liaison: manage approvals with proof consultants, independent engineers, and government authorities.
• Risk & value engineering: identify structural optimizations to reduce material costs while mitigating construction risks and delays.

Missions/Main Duties

• Design Leadership: Approving design philosophies for complex structures like viaducts, underground stations, and long-span bridges (Extra-dosed or Balanced Cantilever).




• Technical Vetting: Conducting high-level reviews of structural models (MIDAS/STAAD.Pro) and GFC drawings to ensure safety and 100-year durability.




• Interface Management: Coordinating critical technical boundaries between Civil, P-Way, Signaling, and MEP to prevent onsite clashes.




• Constructability & Innovation: Overseeing advanced construction methods like precast segmental launching and U-girder placement in dense urban environments.




• Stakeholder Liaison: Managing technical approvals with proof consultants, independent engineers, and government authorities.




• Risk & Value Engineering: Identifying structural optimizations to reduce material costs while mitigating construction risks and delays.
