Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead design and coordination on major projects. You will work with CAD/BIM tools to develop 2D drawings and 3D BIM models, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to codes and standards.

The role requires strong communication with global teams and occasional travel. You will contribute to project delivery, client interfaces, and continuous improvement initiatives, while supporting business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Structural engineer.
• Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks).
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards (AISC, ACI).
• Strong English communication and ability to coordinate with global teams.
• Willingness to travel as required; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs engineering assignments requiring evaluation and adaptation of standard methods.
• Executes detailed engineering work on major projects or leads engineering efforts on smaller projects.
• Applies engineering judgment to resolve technical issues; seeks guidance for complex challenges.
• Develops innovative solutions and contributes to continuous improvement.
• Interfaces with clients to define project scope and provide progress updates.
• Prepares specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Develops designs using CAD/BIM tools and coordinates multidisciplinary teams.

• Independently performs engineering assignments requiring evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard engineering methods.
• Executes detailed engineering work on major projects or leads engineering efforts on small to medium-sized projects.
• Applies sound engineering judgment to resolve technical issues, seeking guidance on complex or unusual challenges when required.
• Develops innovative solutions, communicates design changes, and contributes to continuous improvement.
• May supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior engineers and designers.
• Interfaces with clients to define project scope, provide progress updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Supports business development activities and maintains client relationships.
• Prepares specifications, engineering calculations, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Develops engineering designs and drawings using CADD tools.
• Creates engineering concepts, presentations, and technical deliverables.
• Coordinates effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Stays current with emerging industry trends, design methods, and technologies.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Valid driver's license required (may be waived for international assignments).

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, qualifying the individual for professional licensure in the state of practice, is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Structural engineer role.
• Strong understanding of building codes, AISC, ACI, and other applicable industry standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation, and other CAD/BIM tools used for structural design and project coordination.
• Experience with software interoperability and design workflows between platforms such as Revit, RISA, and other engineering applications.
• Working knowledge of industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and institutional building projects, with the ability to execute related structural designs and BIM deliverables.
• Ability to develop, coordinate, and manage detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models while ensuring quality, accuracy, and constructability.
• Strong English communication skills with the ability to coordinate with the global teams and facilitate a professional relationship.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Flexibility to work during evening hours to support coordination and communication with U.S.-based project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• PE registration or PE-track status.
• Demonstrated progression in engineering design, project execution, and technical problem-solving.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
