Job summary

GE Healthcare Private Limited is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design scalable automation frameworks for functional, API, integration, performance and reliability testing. You will drive hands-on framework development using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber, and integrate automation into CI/CD with reusable test data and parallel execution.

Mentor engineers, improve coverage and eliminate flaky or low-value tests through strong engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the automation architecture, roadmap and implementation standards.
• Build reusable frameworks, libraries, test utilities and reporting capabilities.
• Automate web UI, API, service, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Implement performance, load, stress, endurance and reliability automation.
• Integrate automated suites with CI/CD and release-quality gates.
• Design test-data models, data generation, environment setup and cleanup mechanisms.
• Implement parallel execution, failure diagnostics and actionable reporting.
• Analyze flaky tests and separate product, environment and automation failures.
• Review code, mentor engineers and contribute directly to framework development.
• End-to-end automated test execution from code commit to test result and establish the traceability.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 10+ years of test automation with strong hands-on development skills.
• Java, Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber/BDD.
• REST Assured, Postman/Newman or equivalent API automation.
• JMeter, Gatling, k6 or comparable performance tools.
• Test-data management, SQL/NoSQL validation and service virtualization concepts.
• CI/CD, Git, Docker and cloud test execution.
• Strong coding, debugging and root-cause-analysis skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelors or master's degree in STEM subjects.
• AWS and Kubernetes-based test environments.
• Healthcare or medical-device automation experience.
• Security, accessibility and resilience test automation.

Common Engineering Expectations

• Cloud-native and hybrid cloud/on-premises product development using AWS services.
• Containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and production observability.
• Secure engineering, identity and access management, encryption, secrets management and DevSecOps.
• Performance, scalability, availability, reliability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
• Automated unit, integration, API, system, performance and reliability testing.
• Strong design, coding, debugging, root-cause analysis and technical documentation practices.
• Integration challenges of third party and second party SaaS solutions.
• Working with AI-DLC and software development acceleration.

Healthcare and Medical Device Context

• Experience in regulated healthcare or medical-device development is required for the Verification Lead and strongly preferred for senior architecture, automation and program roles.
• Strong knowledge on SDLC, PRD process, Risks, FMEAs.
• Awareness of patient-data privacy, cybersecurity and secure handling of clinical information.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as DICOM, HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience with real-time clinical data, device connectivity, patient monitoring or high-availability clinical applications is advantageous.
