Note: This role is based in India and requires relocation to India. In-person participation is expected throughout the year, with team and company-wide offsites several times annually.

What you’ll be doing

• Architect and develop the payments platform for processing billions of dollars across the globe
• Provide technical structure to teams and work with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with technical leadership
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs
• Hands-on coding
• Plan and implement the multi-year strategy for Payments engineering with the technical leadership on your team
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to translate vision into a quarterly roadmap
• Contribute positively in meetings and foster inclusive collaboration
• Engage with upstream teams and enforce SLAs for data availability and quality

What we look for in you

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering
• 2+ years of experience architecting big data systems around technologies like Apache Spark and Hive
• Experience elevating junior engineers through processes and setting a high performance bar
• Understanding of high-quality code and software engineering processes; ability to foster an environment that practices them
• Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together

Nice to have

• Experience with Go (Golang), gRPC, Docker and SQL
• Experience working with finance and accounting teams
• Experience in performance tuning of big data systems
