Kaseya is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join the engineering team and build scalable backend services using .NET and Azure. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend services, databases, and architecture to support cloud-based applications and continued growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience, including proficiency with the .NET ecosystem
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET 5+, and SQL Server, including database design and query optimization
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage) and Azure DevOps
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, automated testing, and deployment processes

Position Summary
Kaseya is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and build scalable, reliable backend services for our applications. This role will focus on developing backend solutions using .NET and Microsoft Azure, with an emphasis on API design, performance, security, and cloud integration.

The Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services while contributing to architectural decisions, database optimization, and engineering best practices. Working closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams, this individual will help deliver high-quality solutions, improve system reliability, and support the evolution of our cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services and RESTful APIs using .NET, C#, and related technologies.


• Design and deploy backend solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and performance.


• Contribute to architectural decisions, data modeling, and API design to build efficient and maintainable solutions.


• Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver new features and improve existing functionality.


• Design, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases, including query performance and data integrity.


• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.


• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to identify performance issues and improve service reliability.


• Maintain technical documentation covering backend processes, API specifications, and infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years working with the .NET ecosystem.


• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET 5+, and SQL Server, including database design and query optimization.


• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps.


• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, with a solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, branching strategies, automated testing, and deployment workflows, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB.


• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.


• Knowledge of caching mechanisms, including Redis and Azure Cache.


• Understanding of cloud security best practices and secure application development.


• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
