SailPoint Technologies, based in Pune, India, is seeking a Software Engineer in Identity Product Engineering. This role involves enhancing Identity product quality, fixing security bugs, and supporting L3 escalations within a hybrid Pune office (2-3 days on-site).

You will collaborate with a senior team of engineers and testers to deliver scalable Java/Spring Boot solutions on AWS, with direct customer interaction for complex issues.

Qualifications

13-22 years of experience in Java development with Spring Boot.
Strong understanding of AWS including EC2, S3, Lambda.
Experience debugging complex issues and delivering on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Boot.

About you and the role:

SailPoint is seeking aSoftwareEngineer to join ourFeatureteamsfor the Identity product.In this role, youare responsible forincreasing the quality of Identity and developing solutions to customer reported issues.Youare responsible forwriting quality code in addition to debugging complex problems.You will work closely with the broader Engineering team, as well as Support, and occasionally communicate directly with customers to assist in L3 Support escalations.We’relooking for candidates with a strong work ethic who can work with a team of very experienced Software Engineers and Testers.Lack of experience in a particular technology/platform is not a showstopperifthere is a skill of immediate usefulness, as well as a commitment to continual learning.

* Your role includesfixing product/security bug, enhancing product supportability and assisting tech support or professional services on the technical queries

Roles and Responsibilities :

Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain large-scale Java-based applications using Spring Boot.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues through troubleshooting and escalation management.
Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud-based systems on AWS platform.
Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and sustainability principles.

Job Requirements :

13-22 years of experience in Java development with expertise in Spring Boot framework.
Strong understanding of AWS ecosystem including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, Lambda functions etc. .
Experience with troubleshooting complex technical issues using various tools such as log analysis logs etc. .
Proven track record of working on large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Roadmap to Success:

First 30 Days - Onboarding & Discovery

Set up local test and development environments. Schedule introductory meetings with peers across Engineering and Support. Review documentation on L3 escalation procedures.Deep understanding of the Identity product offering, the Java/J2EE technology stack, and the internal process for handling customer-reported issues.

Days 31-60 - Active Contribution & Debugging

Partner with other developers to reproduce and debug complex customer issues. Begin developing solutions for initial tickets. Contribute to UI components and REST-based web services.Successful transition to hands-on coding, delivering high-quality solutions for customer issues, and seamless collaboration within the Feature team.

Days 61-90 - Independence & Quality Leadership

Independently handle complex L3 escalations and communicate directly with customers. Expand unit testing coverage using frameworks like TestNG/JUnit. Share knowledge with the team.Consistent delivery of quality code, proactive prevention of future escalations through improved test coverage, and establishing oneself as a reliable team expert.
