Job summary

Extreme Networks India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer to work on Layer2 and Layer3 forwarding development for BCM chipset family. The role expects 8-13 years of experience and involves hands-on work with networking data plane concepts in L2, L3, VXLAN, ACL, and QoS.

You will contribute to C programming, Linux/embedded software, and possibly Go and microservices. Collaboration across multi-site teams, debugging performance issues, and delivering complete modules

Qualifications

• 8–13 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 forwarding concepts.
• Experience with BCM XGS/DNX chipsets is preferable.
• Proficient in C programming.
• Knowledge of routing algorithms and data structures.
• Linux and embedded software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver complete software components/modules you are responsible for.
• Troubleshoot, optimize performance, and debug memory leaks and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with multi-site project teams to ensure timely delivery.

SR SW SYSTEMS ENGINEER 10139 - Layer2 & Layer 3 Forwarding Development- BCM Chipset Job Description: Experience: 8-13 Years

• Strong understanding of networking data plane forwarding concepts in the following areas - L2, L3, VXLAN, MCT, ACL, QOS
• Hands on experience of programming BCM based XGS & DNX family of chipsets is preferable.
• Strong understanding of routing algorithms, data structures.
• Strong understanding of control plane networking concepts
• In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and embedded software development
• Excellent programming knowledge in C
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exposure to GO and microservices architecture.
• Experience in trouble shooting & debugging memory leaks, performance bottlenecks
• Experience working with multi-site project teams.
• Should be able to implement and handle the complete delivery of the component/modules owned
• Ability to learn on the job and ready to take up challenges.
• Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments.
