Job summary

Udhyam Learning Foundation in Dehradun seeks a Senior Specialist to lead teacher training and development within the curriculum and pedagogy team, partnering with government schools to reimagine classroom practice.

You will build capacity of master trainers, align training design with state education goals, and document field insights to inform scalable programs that nurture student agency and teacher growth.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of work experience as a teacher trainer/coach, curriculum designer at scale.
• Experience of working with government stakeholders and teachers.
• Emergent knowledge about effective TPD models & experiential learning.

About Udhyam:

Udhyam Learning Foundation (Udhyam) is on a mission towards Making Bharat Entrepreneurial. Our programs:

1. Udhyam Shiksha works on developing entrepreneurial mindsets among the youth in the government high schools and enabling them to achieve their potential, having impacted ~24,00,000 learners across 10 Indian states.

2. Udhyam Vyapaar focuses on nano businesses in India, and solving large problems faced by them, at scale; having already enabled up to a 27% income uplift for 5000+ entrepreneurs.

Udhyam Shiksha s Program Model:

Udhyam Shiksha works in collaboration with state governments to build entrepreneurial mindsets and agency in young people through real-world, experiential learning. Our work enables learners to make choices, identify problems and opportunities, work in teams, take action, learn from feedback, improve their work, and create value for themselves and others. As Udhyam expands its work in Vocational Education, we are exploring how this entrepreneurial mindset and inquiry-to-action pedagogy can become a powerful layer within NEP/NCF-SE aligned vocational learning.

About the role:

Building teacher capacities in the government education system for facilitating student agency could be challenging as it requires teachers to reexamine their current ways of teaching and gradually build confidence in a completely new domain. We believe that nurturing student agency also requires investing in teachers own agency. It is in this context, we are looking for a passionate Senior Specialist for the teacher training and development vertical within the curriculum and pedagogy team, who can partner with us in reimagining teacher training in India at scale.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Learning and Development:
  • Create and facilitate engaging learning experiences for teachers.
  • Build facilitation capacity for master trainers and internal Udhyam team.
• Implementation/Program Management:
  • Work in sync with the curriculum team s vision and partner with curriculum members at various stages of teacher development.
  • Collaborate with the SCERT and Ops teams to align on the training design and implementation.
• Documenting On-ground Field Insight:
  • Research best practices in continuous teacher professional development, cascade loss, mindset change, coaching & other relevant areas.
  • Gather participant feedback and identify areas that need improvement.
  • Observe teaching practices and document insights, teacher personas etc.

Skills, Experience and Mindsets

• At least 7 years of work experience as a teacher trainer/coach, curriculum designer at scale.
• Having worked in a classroom setting for a few years would be an added plus.
• Experience of working with the government stakeholders and teachers.
• Emergent knowledge about effective TPD models & experiential learning.
• Basic understanding of building teacher capacities at scale.
• Ability to research, analyse data & articulate specific problems.
