Job summary

LSEG invites applications for a Senior Specialist, Database SRE in Bangalore, to drive database standards, security, patching, DR, and performance tuning across multi‑data centre environments. The role requires deep Oracle expertise and a proactive automation mindset.

You will guide design, support production systems, and ensure high availability while coordinating on-call coverage and security policy alignment. This position is based in Bengaluru, India.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting business critical applications in a multi data centre environment.
• Extensive experience in ORACLE 12c and 19c Database Administration, RAC, Grid Infrastructure, ASM/ACFS, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, Database Upgrades, Patching, Solaris X86, RHEL.
• Database Infrastructure installs, upgrades and patching.
• Database high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience of supporting databases in a Cloud environment.
• Automation of database administration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standards for database builds, database security, patching, high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and configure database resources to ensure optimum performance.
• Handle database procedures such as backup/restore and database version upgrades.
• Undertake maintenance and upgrade tasks, generally out of normal business hours including weekends.
• Provide database design support to development projects.
• Undertake database performance tuning and diagnostics.
• Assist platform administrators to support applications that use our databases.
• Provide support shift cover and be available for on‑call service.
• Seek and implement opportunities for automating manual database management tasks.
• Evaluate and implement strategies to align to IT security policies.
