Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced technical manager to coach, grow, and partner with Startups Solutions Architects, focusing on helping early startups scale. You will drive customer engagements, mentor architects, and collaborate with sales and product teams in India, particularly around Mumbai.

You will lead a high-performing team, foster technical excellence, and maintain strong customer obsession while aligning with AWS strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of managing a technical team of solution architects, sales engineers or similar technical roles.
• 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
• Experience in people management and CXO level engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead critical customer engagements including cloud adoption and migration programs, and complex technical challenges with high-stakes outcomes.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to startup founders and senior business and technical leaders, operating at a strategic level and creating opportunities for your team to act as trusted advisors.
• Apply deep technical understanding across multiple domains to invent, evolve, and simplify solutions that drive customer success.
• Coach and develop experienced Solutions Architects to elevate their technical capabilities and strategic advisory abilities.
• Build a high-performing team through effective hiring, onboarding, and continuous skill development.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and customer obsession.
• Maintain a high bar for operational excellence; define and maintain appropriate cadences for inspecting the business in your area.
• Champion your area’s customer needs with senior leaders within AWS.
• Bridge customer needs with AWS product teams, ensuring customer feedback drives product improvements.
• Partner with senior leaders within AWS sales, investor management, specialist, and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and clear obstacles to customer success.
