Job summary

Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited in Bangalore seeks a Senior Technical Specialist – Programming & Commissioning to lead controller software development, testing, and system integration for global data centre Building Automation projects.

You will develop control logic for chillers, CRAH/CRAC, CDU, pumps and AHUs, and perform FAT/SAT, remote commissioning, and documentation while integrating BAS with UPS, EPMS, DCIM and third-party systems.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in building automation or data centre projects.
• Bachelors or Masters in electrical, mechanical, controls, mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience with BAS, HVAC control sequences and commissioning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead controller programming, software development and commissioning for Building Automation Systems in data centres.
• Develop and validate control logic for chillers, CRAH/CRAC, CDU, pumps and AHUs.
• Perform FAT, SAT and system testing, including point-to-point and trend checks.
• Integrate BAS with UPS, generators, EPMS, DCIM and 3rd party equipment using BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA.
• Provide remote commissioning support, troubleshoot issues and optimize control strategies.
• Develop reusable libraries, standards and documentation; mentor junior engineers.

The Senior Technical Specialist – Programming & Commissioning is responsible for leading controller software development, functional testing, system integration, remote commissioning, and technical support activities for global data centre Building Automation projects. The role serves as the technical expert for complex HVAC control sequences, commissioning strategies, and software standardisation while ensuring reliable operation of mission‑critical infrastructure.

• Lead controller programming, software development, and commissioning activities for Building Automation Systems supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and mission‑critical data centres.
• Develop, review and validate control logic for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, Cooling Distribution Units (CDU), cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHUs, ventilation systems and precision cooling applications.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), integrated system testing, point‑to‑point verification, alarm validation, trend verification and Sequence of Operation testing.
• Integrate BAS with UPS, generators, ATS, STS, power monitoring systems, EPMS, DCIM, fire alarm systems, access control, leak detection and third‑party equipment using BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA and other industry‑standard communication protocols.
• Provide remote commissioning support, troubleshoot software issues, perform root cause analysis, optimise control strategies and resolve customer technical escalations.
• Develop reusable software libraries, programming standards, commissioning procedures and technical documentation to improve engineering consistency and delivery efficiency.
• Mentor programmers and commissioning engineers while supporting technical reviews, customer meetings and global engineering initiatives.

Your success is grounded in:

• 6–10 Years of relevant experience
• Education: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.

Preferred

• Experience in hyperscale data centres or mission‑critical facilities.
• Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) with Knowledge of AI‑ready cooling systems, liquid cooling, Digital Twin, BIM and EPMS/DCIM integration.
