Job summary

Smiths Detection seeks an experienced SAP Solution Architect to design, govern and optimize SAP-centric solutions across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and HR. You will drive end-to-end architectures, data flows and integrations with SAP, APIs, and middleware while aligning with enterprise standards.

The role requires 8+ years in SAP architecture, strong stakeholder skills and familiarity with TOGAF and cloud security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of SAP solution design or enterprise architecture experience.
• Experience with SAP integrations, APIs, middleware and data migration approaches.
• Knowledge of integration platforms such as MuleSoft or equivalent.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with TOGAF and security/compliance requirements.

Job Description

Job Purpose:

Design, evaluate and govern SAP-centric business solutions that support Smiths Detection's business strategy, enterprise architecture standards and cyber security requirements. The role will act as the technical authority for SAP solution design, integration, data flows and business process optimisation across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HR and other enterprise functions.

Duties:

• Lead solution design activities for SAP and associated enterprise applications.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and supportable solution architectures.
• Define and maintain solution architectures, integrations, interfaces and end-to-end business process designs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, cyber security, infrastructure and application vendors.
• Review solution designs for compliance with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements and integration principles.
• Support ERP transformation, application rationalisation and enterprise modernisation initiatives.
• Produce architecture artefacts, including solution diagrams, interface specifications, data flow maps and technical documentation.
• Evaluate third-party applications and integrations with SAP and enterprise platforms.
• Support Architecture Review Board activities and technology governance processes.
• Assist with application roadmap development and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• 8+ years of experience in SAP solution design, enterprise applications or solution architecture.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC and SAP ecosystem technologies.
• Experience with SAP integrations, APIs, middleware and data migration approaches.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft or equivalent.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Experience working with cyber security, identity, governance and compliance requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Proficient in independently planning and executing work within established deadlines
• Adheres rigorously to all relevant practices and documentation standards
• Conducts thorough reviews of own work to ensure attainment of desired outcomes
