Job summary

Ranjita Analytical & Research Laboratory (RARL) in Bhubaneswar invites applications for Senior Soil Analyst. The role centers on water and soil analysis, method standardization, and regulatory compliance under NABL guidelines.

You will perform chemical analyses of soil parameters, calibrate instruments, manage documentation, and contribute to QA/QC programs while training laboratory personnel. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry/biotechnology/biochemistry/environmental science.
• Minimum 3 years of NABL-lab experience in water, soil & environment.
• Experience participating in NABL Audit.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience handling laboratory equipment and participating in PT, ILC & IQC programs.
• Experience training laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analysis of all soil parameters (e.g., pH, alkalinity) per reference standards.
• Candidate must be familiar with NABL audit experience for water & soil samples.
• Perform instrument calibration and maintenance of spectrophotometer, FTIR, ICP-OES and Flame Photometer.
• Evaluate the measurement uncertainty of various parameters in water samples.
• Evaluate and interpret calibration or test results.
• Standardize & re-standardize various equipment.
• Maintain water-related documentation (raw data, logbook, SOPs, QSPs).

Job Description for the post of Senior Soil Analyst

Introduction

The water quality control chemist leads the laboratory's daily operations and performs water quality control analysis. The responsibilities involve preparing chemical solutions, inventory management of laboratory equipment, calibration and maintenance of equipment, preparation of documentation and regulatory compliance reports. He/She implements improved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and test standards to enhance the quality of boiler and feed water. He/She develops staff capabilities through capability development interventions and on-the-job training.

As a soil analyst working with Ranjita Analytical & Research Laboratory (RARL), one will need to be equipped with outstanding research and analytical skills along with exceptional technical and scientific expertise in the relevant field with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. He/She should have meticulous attention to detail and must display a keen interest in preventing diseases that are harmful to humans. One should be logical in thinkingwith effective problem-solving skills, sound observational skills, and also have acceptable knowledge in the field of statistics.microorganisms in food, environment, soil & water. He/She will be involved in testing soil/water for safety and quality purposes.

What We Expect from You as a Senior Soil Analyst:

• Perform chemical analysis of all soil parameters (For e.g., pH, alkalinity etc.) as per reference standards
• Candidate must be familiar with the NABL audit experience for water & soil samples
• Perform Instrumentation analysis (Spectrophotometer, FTIR , ICP-OES & Flame Photometer ). The candidate will be responsible for handling the instruments, their calibration and intermediate check
• The candidate is expected to conduct the evaluation of the measurement uncertainty of various parameters in water samples
• Candidate must have the ability to evaluate and interpret calibration or test results
• Candidate must be able to perform standardization & re-standardization of various equipment
• The candidate is expected to take responsibility for all water-related documentation in the lab (Raw data, logbook, SOPs, QSPs update)

Who Are We Looking For

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in chemistry/biotechnology/biochemistry/environmental science.
• Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience in water, soil & environment NABL accredited laboratory
• Experience participating in NABL Audit
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience handling chemical laboratory equipment preferred
