Job summary

Wolters Kluwer N.V. is seeking an experienced Software Test Automation Engineer to advance automated testing across complex web applications.

You will work with cross-functional teams, define automation strategies, and ensure quality through secure testing practices. The role requires 6–10 years of hands-on experience with Selenium/Playwright, CI/CD tools, and strong debugging skills, with a focus on AI-assisted testing and scalable frameworks.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in software test automation for complex web apps.

Job Description Summary

Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of approaches, tools and platforms in the area of software test automation. Works independently with minimal guidance and works with cross functional teams to standardise/adopt technology and automation best practices. Understands key business drivers and builds knowledge of the company, processes and customers. Performs a range of technical assignments and solves moderately complex problems under guidance of established policies and procedure. Contributes to delivery of team goals through personal efforts or through influence over team members. Incumbents will potentially work as a back‑up of the lead/manager and work with the business/technology stakeholders closely as needed and follow agile scrum processes as specified for the team.

Technical Skills
  • 6+ years of software test automation experience, preferably with complex web applications.
  • Advanced technical troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong test automation skills – C# (Preferred) OR Java(willing to learn and work on C#)
  • Proficiency in .NET.
  • Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming, design and debugging skills.
  • Basic understanding of SQL database technologies.
  • Proven experience developing automated test framework, e.g. unit tests, Selenium, Playwright
  • Experience in functional/non‑functional testing.
  • Experience in API Testing and UI testing.
  • Strong manual testing and debugging abilities.
  • Knowledge of the Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Able to write/understand basic SQL.
  • Experience in creating test plans and test cases based on business requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of fundamental quality assurance concepts and best practices is required
  • Ability to take ownership and understanding the end‑to‑end flow of multiple applications and impact analysis.
  • Understanding of integrating automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiar with managing test environments
  • Strong knowledge of Selenium/API Automation in C#.
  • Identify, analyse, and document defects clearly in collaboration with the development team.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failed tests and drive resolution.
  • Understanding of AI testing and some experience with AI tool like (Co‑pilot etc.)
  • Must be self‑motivated and take initiative in performing tasks and growing skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize AI‑powered tools to accelerate automation development and execution.
  • Apply industry best practices to design, implement, and maintain robust automated test scripts.
  • Continuously optimise automation frameworks for efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with QA and development teams to integrate AI solutions into the automation process.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the automation test strategies for critical features & Collaboration powered by Expert AI solutions product, ensuring high‑quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Product Management, Development, UX, and other engineering groups.
  • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and adherence to best practices.
  • Contribute to automation roadmap decisions and long‑term technical strategy.
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure tests are executed automatically with every build and deployment.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and ownership.
  • Ensure quality, and performance of the application.
  • Participate in roadmap planning and help align engineering efforts with business goals.
