Job summary

Autodesk in Pune is seeking a Senior QA Engineer focused on test automation to strengthen the Desktop Connector team. You will design and maintain test automation frameworks for Windows desktop applications, leverage AI-assisted quality engineering, and drive end-to-end QA activities across CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with product managers and developers to define acceptance criteria, expand automation coverage, conduct exploratory testing, and mentor junior testers as a QA lead.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software QA experience with desktop automation.
• Senior QA Engineer or QA Lead with test strategy and defect management.
• Strong C#/.NET programming for test automation.
• Experience with FlaUI or WinAppDriver for Windows desktop UI automation.
• Experience automating functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests.
• Proficient in Jira/Xray for test management and defect tracking.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools for testing and productivity.
• Agile/Scrum experience and cross-functional collaboration.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer with a strong focus on test automation to join our Desktop Connector team in Pune. In this role, you will drive quality assurance initiatives, develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks and automated test suites, and ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of our Windows desktop application and its integration with cloud services.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies, improve automation coverage, identify quality risks, and deliver high-quality releases. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands‑on experience in software testing, C#/.NET, Windows desktop automation, and AI‑assisted quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable test automation frameworks and automated test suites for Windows desktop applications using C#, .NET, FlaUI, or equivalent technologies.

• Drive end-to-end quality assurance activities as a QA Lead, including test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and release readiness.

• Identify and automate critical functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios to improve test coverage and accelerate release cycles.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and continuously improve test reliability, execution efficiency, and maintainability.

• Perform functional and exploratory testing, investigate defects, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and cross‑functional teams to define acceptance criteria, identify quality risks, and ensure high‑quality feature delivery.

• Lead defect triage sessions, bug bashes, and automation code reviews while promoting quality engineering best practices across the team.

• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or equivalent tools to accelerate test development, improve coverage, and optimize testing workflows.

• Effectively communicate testing progress, automation coverage, quality metrics, and release risks to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with strong hands‑on expertise in test automation for Windows desktop applications.

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior QA Engineer or QA Lead, driving test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and quality reporting.

• Strong programming skills in C# and .NET, with experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.

• Hands‑on experience with Windows desktop UI automation using FlaUI, WinAppDriver, or equivalent frameworks.

• Experience developing and executing automated functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end tests.

• Proficiency with test management and defect‑tracking tools such as Xray, Jira, or equivalent tools.

• Practical experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar tools for test automation, test planning, debugging, and productivity improvements.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing cloud‑connected desktop applications, particularly those involving file synchronization, offline workflows, conflict resolution, and recovery mechanisms.

• Experience validating REST APIs, cloud services, and distributed systems, including failure handling and data consistency.

• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.

• Experience with performance, reliability, and stability testing of Windows desktop applications.

• Familiarity with testing AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or other AEC/CAD tools.
