Job description

Description Location: Noida or Bangalore Trintech is an award-winning AI-driven Fintech SaaS organisation transforming the way finance teams operate. This Senior Software Engineer role designs, develops, and maintains high-performance, scalable Java/J2EE applications, incorporating robust backend services and responsive front-end components. Owning full lifecycle development, from requirements analysis through deployment and support, this role collaborates closely with product managers, designers, QA, and fellow engineers in Agile/Scrum environments. In addition, you will participate actively in technical design reviews, write clean and maintainable code, resolve complex technical issues, and continuously promotes best practices. Staying informed of emerging technologies, the engineer proactively identifies opportunities to enhance software quality, performance, and maintainability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Smalltalk applications using technologies like VAST and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Take end-to-end ownership of development tasks: from requirement analysis through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate in peer reviews and encourage best practices.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with QA and support teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to improving code quality, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers to turn functional and UI/UX requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend tools, frameworks, and libraries that enhance development productivity and maintainability.
• Engage actively in sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and daily stand‑ups.
• Promote a knowledge-sharing culture through documentation and team collaboration.
• Demonstrate a proactive mindset in tackling challenges and ensuring alignment with sprint goals and release timelines.
• Ability to thrive in Agile/Scrum environments, consistently delivering high-quality features with minimal supervision, within tight sprint timelines and adapting rapidly to changing priorities.
• Select and implement development tools and coordinate technical standards within a development team.
• Expected to operate in a highly regulated, change-controlled environment where attention to detail is critical.
• Identify technical risks and mitigation plans.

WHO YOU ARE

• B. Tech/ M. Tech (Computer Science) or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience in software development with strong object-oriented design fundamentals.
• Quality and test-first development mindset
• Deep technical knowledge in Continuous Integration and deployment (CI/CD).
• Extensive working experience in secure coding practices and application-level security, including testing and mitigating vulnerabilities through static analysis, dynamic testing, and third-party library assessments.
• Experience with unit testing, TDD, and automation frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing complex SQL and stored procedures.
• Performance tuning would be a plus.
• Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Successful track record in delivering high-quality products while working in Agile Teams and following Agile methodologies.
• Able to define and adhere to technical standards within a development team.
• Ability to strongly influence peers and technical staff within the team.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Previous experience with Reconciliation and/or month-end close applications is preferred.
