Job summary

FactSet is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for its Mergers & Acquisitions Data Solutions Engineering team in Hyderabad.

You will build and maintain data pipelines and tools using Python, Pandas, FastAPI, and AWS, while collaborating across internal teams to deliver robust data solutions in a hybrid work setup. You will contribute to API design, testing (Pytest, TDD), and production-grade services, with 4–6 years of industry experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science.
• 4–6 years of overall industry experience.
• 3–4 years of experience in Python.
• Strong experience and proficiency with Python, Pandas, and FastAPI.
• Strong experience with Javascript ES6+, TypeScript, Vue 3, Pinia and CSS3.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong experience with API design and Test Driven Development.
• Experience with AWS cloud and CI/CD (Github Actions), Redis and Pytest.
• Relational database experience, preferably with PostgreSQL, MSSQL.
• Experience with Github-based development processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience building and deploying production-level services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, reusable and maintainable code, perform Unit / Integration Testing of assigned tasks within the estimated timelines.
• Proactive in providing technical solutions with effective communication & collaboration skills.
• Perform Code Reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
• Work in an agile team environment and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth product delivery.
• Ownership of end-end product & Individual contribution.
• Performance Improvements with the help of metrics provided by automatic monitoring of the product.
• Ensure high stability of the product.
• Continuous Knowledge sharing internal & external of the team.
• Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.
• Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings.

We are responsible for building and maintaining the robust data pipelines, tools, and systems that power FactSet's M&A content covering deals, transactions, valuations, and market intelligence across global markets. What You'll Do

• Infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Familiar with Agile software development (Scrum is a plus).
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
