Job summary

Dover India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Python to join our Bengaluru team. You will develop features for the Blue Bite product, work in an Agile environment with Product and UX, and design scalable software solutions with strong testing and security practices.

The role requires 5-10 years of experience, a B.E./B.Tech in CS, and proficiency in Python, Django, DRF, and relational databases. AWS experience and frontend skills in React/Node JS are a plus.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in computer science with 5 to 10 years of experience (3–5 years in relevant roles).
• Extensive experience building web applications with Python, Django, DRF and relational databases.
• Experience in AWS environment is a plus; familiarity with React JS and Node JS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and improvements to the Blue Bite product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
• Work closely with Product and UX as part of an Agile team focused on rapid delivery and feedback.
• Solving problems by designing software solutions using maintainable, scalable, and modular code.
• Optimizing performance critical applications speed and scalability.
• Implementation of security and data protection practices within applications.
• Breakdown complex features into manageable deliverables.
• Ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
• Be an advocate for consistent, quality, and decoupled code by writing unit tests and performing code reviews
• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
• Be a strong advocate for best practices, including coaching, managing, and mentoring others on how to best build high-quality SaaS solutions

• Significant experience building web applications with Python, Django, Django Rest Framework (DRF) involving relational databases
• Working within an AWS environment will be an added advantage
• Working with React JS and Node JS will be an added advantage
• Experience with both OOP and functional programming principles
