Job summary

CredHive, a seed-funded startup building AI-driven credit and risk platforms, seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to power core product workflows. The role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, data platforms, and product infrastructure.

You will build reliable systems using Python and TypeScript, design robust RESTful APIs, and leverage AWS to support internal teams and customers with scalable, observable services.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in Python; TypeScript experience preferred.
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS and production cloud applications.
• Observability, monitoring, logging, and debugging complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Build reusable platform services and abstractions for rapid app/workflow creation.
• Customer Workflows: Design end-to-end customer flows, APIs, asynchronous processing, data retrieval, and report generation.
• Data Access: Build interfaces and services for large datasets to enable downstream products.
• Backend Systems: Design and develop scalable services using Python and TypeScript.
• APIs & Integrations: Build internal and external APIs for customers, partners, and product teams.
• Observability: Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and dashboards for system visibility.
• Reliability & Performance: Identify bottlenecks and data-quality issues; improve resilience.
• Platform Architecture: Define patterns for services, data access, authentication, and integrations.

Job description

We are a seed-funded startup using state-of-the-art AI technologies to reimagine how businesses access credit information, risk intelligence, and due diligence. Our product is live with early customers, and our team includes engineers with experience at leading US technology companies. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to build the core platform that powers our products and customer workflows.

This role sits between backend engineering, data platforms, and product infrastructure. You will build systems that make our data reliable, observable, and easy to consume so that internal teams and customers can build applications and workflows on top of it.

The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in Python, backend systems, APIs, data systems, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Build reusable platform services and abstractions that allow product teams to quickly build new applications and workflows.
• Customer Workflows: Design and improve end-to-end customer flows, including APIs, asynchronous processing, data retrieval, report generation, and integrations.
• Data Access: Build reliable interfaces and services that make large, complex datasets easy to query, consume, and integrate into downstream products.
• Backend Systems: Design and develop scalable services using Python and TypeScript.
• APIs & Integrations: Build well-designed internal and external APIs for customers, partners, and product teams.
• Observability: Build visibility into system and data flows through logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and operational dashboards.
• Reliability & Performance: Identify bottlenecks, failures, and data-quality issues across workflows and improve system resilience and performance.
• Platform Architecture: Define common patterns for services, data access, asynchronous jobs, authentication, permissions, and system integrations.
• Engineering Quality: Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to architecture discussions and code reviews.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in backend or platform engineering.
• Strong programming experience in Python; TypeScript experience is preferred.
• Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
• Experience building systems around large datasets, asynchronous workflows, queues, or distributed processing.
• Experience with AWS and production cloud applications.
• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, and debugging complex systems.
• Experience designing systems that are consumed by multiple teams, applications, or external customers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience building data platforms, developer platforms, or API-first products.
• Experience with Redis, SQS/Kafka, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
• Experience building customer-facing data products or high-volume data processing systems.
• Experience working in an early-stage startup environment.
