This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Equity Investments and Client Activities team at Parametric:

  • We are building financial software that solves for some of the world's most complex financial opportunities. This includes building solutions to provide customized direct index exposure while making tax sensitive asset selection to improve overall after-tax portfolio returns.
  • We design and build financial software responsible for the account life cycle that starts with the onboarding of accounts, managing all client activities and investment instructions, and finally managing equity investment accounts at scale.
ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, project management, process development, training, and support. The role will work across and within the Equity Investments and Client Activities team as well as Core Services and externally facing Digital Team. This role will enhance the Direct Indexing business priorities, to design and develop technology solutions, and to improve business processes. This role spans across many services within the team building out underlying components that will provide critical services to the Equity Portfolio Management Platform. These services will help streamline the rule-based portfolio analytics, order generation and straight through processing allow for exception driven portfolio management.

In this role, you will report to the Equity Investment Services team and collaborate closely with Business Partners and Technology Team leads on the US West Coast.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop proprietary solutions for the Equity Direct Indexing portfolio management teams
  • Design, develop, and maintain services and API to support various business needs
  • Leverage scalable and distributed computing principles to build the next generation of services
  • Ensures that software solutions remain integrated, efficient, and appropriate for a highly regulated industry.
  • Create unit/integration/functional/performance tests
  • Conduct code reviews of other developers
  • Share experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve processes and productivity
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience: 7+ years

Skill set: Software design / Dev/ Java / J2EE / SQL

PRIMARY SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related areas of study.
  • 7+ year’s experience designing and developing Web Applications using Java, J2EE/Spring framework.
  • Strong aptitude for highly efficient data structures and algorithms.
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL database engines such as Redis, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with microservices-based architecture.
  • Proven track record of becoming a subject matter expert in areas related to current assignments.
  • A creative, self-confident self-motivator with a "can do" spirit.
  • Passionate, forward thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner across a diverse team tapping the strength and unique skills of every team member.
  • Assertiveness balanced with a sensitivity toward and concern for people. The ability to create strong work ethics and committed teams, foster open dialogue, and promote individual and team success.
  • Effective communication skills with business users and other developers
GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS
  • Cloud native development experience on AWS.
  • C# and React experience
