Job summary

Recrew AI is seeking a software engineer to own and evolve a C#/.NET desktop application that orchestrates multi-threaded test execution and instrument control on manufacturing lines. You will embed Python for test logic, collaborate with photonics and hardware teams, and influence yield, throughput, and quality at scale.

• 5+ years of C#/.NET development including WPF, MVVM, async/await, thread safety, and class library design.
• 3+ years of Python with OOP, pytest, and abstraction-driven design.
• Demonstrated experience with .NET 8 or later.
• Strong concurrent programming skills—designing thread-safe systems, managing race conditions, and reasoning across multiple threads and processes.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or a similar document database for data modeling, querying, and managing results at scale.
• Git and CI/CD fluency—GitHub Actions, artifact pipelines, versioning, and automated deployment to remote Windows machines.
• Proficiency in Bash and/or PowerShell scripting for automation, remote management, and deployment.

Position Overview

This role sits at the intersection of precision hardware control and scalable manufacturing software, directly enabling the company to produce thousands of optical transceiver units daily. You will own and evolve a C#/.NET desktop application that orchestrates multi-threaded test execution, instrument resource management, and RPC services across live manufacturing lines — with Python deeply embedded as a first-class component for test logic and automation. Working alongside photonics and hardware engineers, your software decisions will have direct, measurable impact on yield, throughput, and product quality at scale.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a C#/.NET WPF desktop application using MVVM architecture for advanced optical transceiver testing on manufacturing lines
• Build and maintain thread-safe, concurrent systems managing parallel test execution and complex instrument locking across multiple hardware resources
• Write and integrate Python test scripts and libraries natively embedded within the .NET application for complex testing functionality
• Develop drivers and control code for laboratory and test measurement instruments, handling low-level hardware communication
• Own CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions — including artifact management, versioning strategies, and automated deployment to remote Windows machines
• Debug and diagnose production issues remotely without direct debugger access, using logs, traces, and telemetry across process boundaries
• Model, query, and manage test result data at scale using MongoDB or a comparable document database

Must Have Criteria

• 5+ years of C#/.NET development including WPF (or similar GUI framework), MVVM, async/await, thread safety, and class library design
• 3+ years of Python with OOP, pytest, and abstraction-driven design
• Demonstrated experience with .NET 8 or later
• Strong concurrent programming skills — designing thread-safe systems, managing race conditions, and reasoning across multiple threads and processes
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or a similar document database for data modeling, querying, and managing results at scale

Nice to Have

• Experience with test and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters) and communication standards (SCPI, VISA, GPIB, I2C)
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces — serial communication, TCP sockets, and low-level protocols
• Experience with Python.NET for native Python-in-.NET integration
• Unit testing experience with xUnit, MSTest, or equivalent frameworks
• Background in factory/manufacturing software or MES integration
• Knowledge of optical communications, photonics, or transceiver technology
