Job summary

Progress Software Corporation in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive new functionality, maintain existing modules, and contribute to scalable software solutions for AI-powered applications. You will analyze requirements, estimate tasks, and ensure code quality with C# and Web API.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of professional product development experience in designing scalable software.
• Hands on experience with C# and ASP.NET in production systems.
• Professional experience with Web API and relational databases.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks, CSS and HTML is preferred.
• Familiar with OO design, architecture and design patterns.
• Interest or experience in AI-powered development is a plus.

In this role, you will:

• Take responsibility for building new functionalities, enhancement and maintenance of existing ones
• Participate in the research of the software components behind the team tasks and have a good understanding of the architecture and design of the team's products
• Write clean, maintainable, testable and readable code whilst adhering to the team’s coding quality standards
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with the team’s software, providing the best possible solution in a timely manner
• Analyze business requirements. Provide additional scenarios and use cases - based on continuously enriched understanding of the customer problem
• Provide realistic time estimates on tasks and assignments
• Collaborate with other teams within the organization
• Address customer inquiries
• Willing to work in US Time zone [6:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST]

Your background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of professional experience in a product development organization, with a strong background in designing and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Hands on experience with C# and ASP.NET
• Professional experience with Web API
• Experience with relational databases and MS SQL Server
• Experience with integration of third party systems and development of business applications is a plus
• Experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks, CSS and HTML
• Familiar with Object Oriented Design and Architecture, as well as Design patterns
• Experience with Node.js is a plus
• Good written and spoken English
• Exceptional ability to learn new skills
• Down-to-earth, creative, driven and friendly personality
• Experience or strong interest in AI-powered development is considered an advantage, including: Building, integrating, or using AI agents Leveraging LLMs (e.g., for coding, automation, testing, or content workflows). Understanding of prompt engineering and AI-assisted development practices Applying AI to improve developer productivity, system capabilities, or customer experiences
