As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be designing and developing platforms that powers enterprise products at LinkedIn. We are looking for engineers with deep expertise in designing and managing high-throughput, data-intensive systems.

You will be part of the Enterprise Platform (EP) team, which serves as the core platform for every paid product at LinkedIn. This platform sits horizontally across other LinkedIn products offering user and license management capabilities together with identity and access management. From a technical scale perspective, the team owns and handles:

• Over 200 APIs that support enterprise products and workflows across 50+ code repositories and one Ring 1 service.
• More than 150 data tables storing 90+ TB of critical enterprise data across Espresso, MySQL, Pinot, Couchbase.
• Systems that handle 500K+ peak requests per second.
• Hosted search infrastructure powering enterprise search experiences.
• More than 160 nearline and offline processing jobs that support not only Enterprise Platform teams but also multiple product organisations across LinkedIn.

• Scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
• Develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
• Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
• Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• 7+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
• 7+ years experience programming experience in Java and/or or any Object oriented language

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience with object-oriented design, coding, testing patterns, and programming languages (Java, C++).
• Proven coding skills in a high level language with interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Experience building web applications and services with IDEs and general development practices.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems involving high-volume data processing.
• Expertise building platforms like centralized authorization that is leveraged by multiple teams in building secured product experiences.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, with a focus on data modeling, performance tuning, and operational reliability.
• Experience with real-time data streaming frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Beam etc.) and event-driven architectures.
• Deep understanding of system bottlenecks, data consistency trade-offs, and techniques for ensuring data integrity at scale.
