Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (DevOps) to build and secure cloud, hybrid, and customer‑hosted environments. You will automate deployments, manage CI/CD pipelines, and ensure reliability across Linux and Windows servers.

Expect strong hands‑on Azure expertise, container deployments, NGINX, TLS, and observability. Collaboration with Engineering, QA, Cloud Operations, and Product teams is essential for resilient, secure deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud and hybrid environments.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD Pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized deployments.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
• Automate deployment, configuration, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and recovery processes.
• Support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, hybrid environments, and customer-hosted deployments.
• Support mixed operating system environments, including Ubuntu, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Improve platform stability, uptime, scalability, performance, elasticity, and operational resilience.
• Support Docker-based deployments and future container orchestration initiatives.
• Manage and improve infrastructure related to NGINX, TLS, routing, certificates, application services, APIs, and runtime components.
• Support deployment pipelines for Java, Tomcat, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI, Angular, TypeScript, .NET, and containerized services.
• Improve release management through validation steps, smoke tests, deployment gates, rollback plans, and environment checks.
• Identify and mitigate production risks before infrastructure, deployment, or configuration changes are released.
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Create and maintain runbooks, deployment documentation, operational procedures, and environment standards.
• Improve observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing, dashboards, and service health indicators.
• Support vulnerability prevention and remediation through scanning, dependency reviews, patching, secure configuration, and DevSecOps practices.
• Support secure secrets management, certificate management, access controls, and least-privilege operating practices.
• Support SOC 2 controls, audit readiness, customer security reviews, and operational evidence collection.
• Drive automation and process improvements to reduce recurring operational and production issues.
• Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate scripting, troubleshooting documentation, and operational analysis while validating outputs prior to production use.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, Cloud Operations, Production Support, and Product Management teams.
• Contribute to improving deployment reliability, system uptime, scalability, security, and release quality across all environments.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (DevOps Engineer) to join our Digital Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, automating, securing, and supporting cloud, hybrid, and customer-hosted environments while ensuring deployment reliability, infrastructure stability, operational excellence, and security compliance. The candidate should possess strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure Automation, Docker, Linux, Windows Server, NGINX, DevSecOps, and Cloud Operations, along with strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving capabilities.

What You Will Do

• Strong knowledge of Linux Administration, including Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows Services, PowerShell, and enterprise Windows environments.
• Experience managing cloud, hybrid, and customer-hosted deployments.
• Strong understanding of NGINX, TLS Certificates, Reverse Proxy Configurations, and application routing.
• Experience supporting production SaaS applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, monitoring, logging, operational security, and incident response.
• Hands‑on scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgment around production risk management, change control, deployment readiness, and rollback planning.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced startup or high‑growth environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices, vulnerability management, and security-focused operations.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 compliance, customer security reviews, or regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
• Exposure to observability platforms such as Application Insights, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry will be an added advantage.
• Experience with Azure Key Vault, managed identities, secrets management, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or similar technologies will be an added advantage.
• Relevant Azure, DevOps, Cloud, or Security certifications will be an added advantage.
