Job summary

Optum India is hiring a software engineer to develop scalable Java-based web applications and RESTful services. You will design backend APIs with Spring Boot and build responsive frontends using Angular or React, while optimizing SQL data models.

You will work in a cross-functional, globally distributed team, leveraging Git/Jenkins/CD/containers and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role emphasizes secure coding, AI/ML awareness, and full SDLC deployment practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Software Engineering skills.
• Experience with cross-functional and distributed teams in a global environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized deployments. Knowledge of design patterns and secure coding practices.
• Deep expertise in modern software engineering practices including AI/ML/Generative AI, Agile methodologies, and DevOps to deliver daily product deployments from code check-in to production across full SDLC lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools and practices including Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized deployments. Knowledge of design patterns and secure coding practices
• Deep expertise in modern software engineering practices including AI/ML/Generative AI, Agile methodologies, and DevOps to deliver daily product deployments using full automation from code check-in to production across the full SDLC lifecycle
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven background in healthcare (AI)
• Demonstrate collaborative skills to work effectively with diverse teams
