Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Java and Angular based applications within our Core Platforms & Services team, supporting cloud-based SaaS solutions for public safety customers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, implement RESTful APIs and web services, and contribute to testing, documentation, and code reviews to ensure scalable, high‑quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience with strong Java and Angular.
• Proficient in both frontend and backend with knowledge of ecosystems.
• Solid understanding of REST API development and Web Services.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust, scalable software systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.

Department Overview

The Core Platforms & Services team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solution’s Video & Software division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure, AWS and GCP to build at scale.

Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions, you will be an integral member of our software development team, responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining software for the organization’s innovative products and systems. You will work on complex projects that require a high level of technical proficiency and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and modify software systems, using analysis and models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.


• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.


• Implement and maintain Java and Angular based applications utilizing industry-standard frameworks ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.


• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.


• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.


• Mentor junior software engineers, conducting code reviews and providing guidance to improve the quality and efficiency of their work.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions.


• Drive organization wide strategy and implementation plans including but not limited to Privileged Access Management, Single Sign On and IAM governance

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on Java and Angular.


• Proficient in both Frontend and Backend with a good knowledge of the ecosystems.


• Solid understanding and experience with REST API development and Web Services.


• Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust and scalable software systems.


• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.


• Must be proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work under pressure.
