Job summary

Talentica Software India Pvt. Ltd. in Pune is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Android to own core Android architecture for a desktop+cloud product used by millions.

You’ll drive design, performance tuning and end-to-end feature delivery within a cross-functional team. You will implement modular Kotlin code (MVVM/Clean Architecture), integrate RESTful APIs with Retrofit, and collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, QA and SRE to build scalable mobile experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Android development experience with strong hands-on Kotlin
• Strong Kotlin/Java, Android SDK and Gradle build system
• Experience with MVVM or Clean Architecture in modular Android apps
• Experience with REST API integration using Retrofit
• Go exposure is a plus to work on Quilt
• Unit/integration/UI testing with JUnit, Espresso or equivalent

Senior Software Engineer - Android

Own core engineering decisions for a desktop application that has to work flawlessly for millions of users, deeply integrated with the cloud. As a Principal Engineer at Talentica, you’ll drive architecture and design for a high-scale desktop + cloud product, solving engineering challenges such as reliable cross-platform data sync and large-scale performance tuning.

What You’ll Own

• Design, build and maintain reliable, secure and high-performing Android applications for a large consumer base.
• Own Android features end to end, covering technical design, implementation, automated testing, release and production support.
• Develop clean, modular and maintainable Kotlin code using architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Contribute changes to Quilt, our Backend-for-Frontend service, by quickly cross-skilling into Go.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, QA and SRE teams to turn customer and business requirements into intuitive mobile experiences.
• Optimize application performance, startup time, memory usage, battery consumption and responsiveness using profiling and diagnostic tools.
• Strengthen code-review practices, mobile CI/CD pipelines, staged releases and Google Play Console processes.
• Take part in production troubleshooting and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

What We Need

• 6+ years of professional Android development experience with strong hands-on proficiency in Kotlin.
• Deep technical knowledge of Kotlin, Java, the Android SDK and the Gradle build system.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jetpack libraries, Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, RxJava and dependency-injection frameworks such as Koin or Dagger.
• Experience applying scalable architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture in modular Android applications.
• Experience with HTTP and RESTful API integration using libraries such as Retrofit.
• A good understanding of Go, and the ability to cross-skill quickly to work on Quilt.
• Experience building and maintaining unit, integration and UI automation using JUnit, Espresso, Compose testing or equivalent frameworks.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices, including authentication, secure storage, data protection and secure coding techniques.
• The ability to communicate technical requirements and decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
