Job summary

SIRI AB in India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and implement VAL for ADAS within an Adaptive AUTOSAR environment. You will design vehicle abstraction layers, develop high-performance C++ software for embedded platforms, and ensure MISRA C++ compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across perception, planning and control, contributing to SOA and service-oriented vehicle software, with emphasis on reliability, timing, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronics, telecommunications, CS or electrical engineering.
• Experience in automotive software development and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 or safety processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop VAL: build vehicle abstraction layers for ADAS interfacing with actuators and sensors.
• Adaptivе AUTOSAR implementation: integrate software components within the Adaptive AUTOSAR framework (SOA/SOME/IP).
• Develop high-performance, MISRA C++ compliant embedded C++ code.
• Implement data exchange between ADAS controllers and ECUs using SOME/IP, DoIP, CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet.
• Develop drivers and abstraction layers to port ADAS software across platforms.
• Ensure software adheres to functional safety standards and AUTOSAR guidelines.
• Perform unit, integration, and HiL testing to validate timing and reliability.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, control, and hardware teams on interface requirements.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Develop VAL: Design and developrobust Vehicle Abstraction Layers that provide a standardised interface forADAS applications to interact with vehicle actuators (steering, braking,acceleration) and sensors.
• Adaptive AUTOSAR Implementation: Develop andintegrate software components within an Adaptive AUTOSAR framework, focusing onService-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and SOME/IP communication.
• C++ Software Engineering: Writehigh-performance, memory-efficient, and MISRA-compliant C++ code (C++14/17/20)optimised for embedded automotive platforms.
• Communication Protocols: Implement and manage dataexchange between high-level ADAS controllers and low-level ECUs using protocolssuch as SOME/IP, DoIP, CAN/CAN-FD, and Ethernet.
• Hardware Abstraction: Develop drivers andabstraction logic to hide hardware complexity, enabling easier porting of ADASsoftware across different vehicle platforms.
• Safety & Standards: Ensure all softwaredevelopment adheres to functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and automotivecoding guidelines (MISRA C++, AUTOSAR).
• Testing & Validation: Perform unit testing,integration testing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing to validate the VAL’sreliability and timing constraints.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Perception,Planning, and Control teams, as well as Hardware engineers, to define interfacerequirements and system specifications.
  

Requirements

Required Technical Skills

• Programming: Advanced proficiency in C++ (C++ 11/C++14/C++17 preferred) andunderstanding of low-level memory management and concurrency. Strongunderstanding of SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Middleware: Hands-on experience with AdaptiveAUTOSAR stack (e.g., Vector MICROSAR Adaptive, EB Tresos, or similar).
• Architecture: Strong understanding of Service-OrientedArchitecture (SOA) and the concept of Vehicle Abstraction Layers.
• Automotive Networking: Deep knowledge of SOME/IP,Ethernet communication, and traditional CAN/CAN-FD protocols.
• OS Knowledge: Experience working with POSIX-basedoperating systems (e.g., QNX, Linux/RTOS).
• Tools: Proficiency with Git, CMake, GDB, anddebugging tools (Lauterbach, CANalyzer, or CANoe), and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ADAS/AD functionalities (e.g., ACC,LKA, AEB, or Automated Parking).
  
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 (ASIL D) functional safetyprocesses and documentation.
  
• Experience with hypervisors or virtualisation inautomotive computing platforms.
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for embeddedsoftware development.
