Job summary

project44 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 2 – Backend to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. You will design, build, and implement best‑in‑class integrations to accelerate how project44 connects to logistics networks.

You’ll work in a fast-paced Agile environment, building scalable Java microservices and multi-cloud systems with Docker/Kubernetes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain on-call responsibilities, and contribute to a robust, AI‑assisted product.

Qualifications

• 6+ years professional experience building large scale and real time or near real time cloud systems.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP; Azure preferred).
• Experience creating scalable Java-based micro-services.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL or SQL-based).
• Experience with event streams (Kafka or Kinesis).
• Experience with REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DynamoDB and MongoDB is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build state-of-the-art integrations to expand our network of connected carriers and customers.
• Manage integrations through their life cycle.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the supply chain visibility platform.
• Build systems in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).

project44 is looking for a Senior Software Engineer 2 – Backend to join our engineering team. You will work in a fast-paced Agile environment designing, building, and implementing best‑in‑class integrations to accelerate how project44 connects to the world’s logistics networks.

Key accountabilities: What you’ll work on

• Build state-of-the-art integrations to expand our ever-growing network of connected carriers and customers.
• Manage integrations through their life cycle.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the supply chain visibility platform owned by the team.
• Building systems in a multi-cloud environment. We use AWS and GCP but value experience in other cloud environments such as Azure.
• Work with and align with cross functional teams to solve challenging problems.
• Share ownership of all facets of software delivery, including development, operations, and test
• You will assume on-call responsibilities for systems (together with the team) that are built and owned by your team.
• You will invest in tools, monitoring, and automation to improve on-call experience for everyone on your team.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years professional experience building large scale and real time or near real time cloud systems.
• Strong programming and debugging skills, with proficiency in Java.

Experience in:

• Building systems in a multi-cloud environment. We use AWS & GCP but value experience in other cloud environments such as Azure.

• Creating and working with scalable Java-based micro-services.
• Working with databases (preferably Postgres or other SQL based DB)
• Event stores and stream-processing in Kafka or Kinesis.
• Working in an agile software development environment.

• Experience with investigating large and complex codebases
• Hands‑on experience with C++
• Creating API’s/web services: REST, OpenAPI/Swagger is a plus.
• Container‑orchestration: Docker & Kubernetes
• Enjoy database related work: DynamoDB, MongoDB, Postgres.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
• Personal drive and maintaining a high pace – while taking responsibility for things working.
• Willingness to vocalize your ideas and pick yourself up if you get knocked down.

In‑office Commitment:

This position requires a commitment to contribute to our collaborative culture by working in‑office Three days weekly.
