Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Pune seeks a Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate a Kafka-based platform powering its event-driven architecture. You will join the EDA Platform Team, collaborating across engineering, operations, and enablement to empower product teams within a large, decentralized enterprise.

Your role

We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to help us build and run the core platform that powers ourevent-driven architecture (EDA). As part of the EDA Platform Team, you’ll work at theintersection of engineering, operations, and enablement — helping product teams across alarge, decentralized enterprise build reliable, loosely coupled integrations.

Our mission is to offer a robust, trusted, and self-service Kafka-based platform, with the righttools, automation, and guidance to help teams confidently produce and consume events.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve a Kafka-based platform used by product teams across the organization.
• Develop tools and services to increase adoption, help teams manage their topics, schemas and permissions, and operate their EDA-based integrations.
• Take ownership of the operational health of the platform — respond to incidents, troubleshoot problems with consuming teams, and implement fixes that prevent the problem from happening again.
• You treat reliability, observability, and automation as first-class concerns and proactively improve the platform’s health and supportability.
• Contribute to a long-term vision for governance, discoverability, and developer experience in a federated, self-service model.

To succeed, you will need

Skills & Experience

• 5-8 yrs of Experience
• Have hands-on experience with EDA (preferably Apache Kafka) in production environments.
• Have a solid foundation in infrastructure automation (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform, Kubernetes,GitOps).
• Stay cool under pressure, communicate clearly, and take ownership during incident response.
• Have a strong operational mindset: logs, alerts, metrics, runbooks, and resilience matter to you.
• Experience designing self-service developer platforms (Preferably).
• Familiarity with Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience supporting federated teams in complex enterprises.
