Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking a seasoned Data Analyst with 7+ years of Power BI experience to design and deliver robust dashboards and reports. You will work with SQL-based data models, build scalable visualizations, and collaborate with business users to define KPIs and insights across cloud and on-premise data sources.

The role is remote across PAN India, with focus on Power BI, Azure analytics, and data warehousing. Strong scripting and multi-database expertise are a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization using Power BI.
• Develop operational paginated reports and dashboards with Power BI Desktop/Service and Azure analytics.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends in complex datasets.
• Proficient in SQL with data modeling, warehousing and ETL exposure.
• Hands-on experience in DAX and Power BI visualizations for KPIs.
• Experience with RBAC, deployment pipelines, and data wrangling.
• Familiar with cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, GCP) and multiple databases.

Responsibilities

• Create dashboards and interactive reports using Power BI to identify KPIs.
• Maintain Power BI Modeling with dimensional hierarchies and drill-down visuals.
• Consolidate Data Models and Data Sets across applications into enterprise semantic models.
• Migrate non-Power BI analytics to Power BI using scalable solutions.
• Set up RBAC security, deployment pipelines, and data governance practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into visualizations.
• Assist with data preparation and time-series analyses as needed.

Role

What is expected out of you?

• At least 6 years of experience in data analysis and visualization using Power BI.
• Develop operational paginated reports and build automated reports and dashboards with the help of Power BI Desktop, Service and other Azure Analytics / reporting features
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex data sets to identify trends and patterns.
• Proficient in SQL and experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and exposure to ETL processes.
• Experienced in tools and systems on MS SQL Server, BI tech Stack, including SSRS and TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, and Strong hands-on experience in DAX
• Create dashboards and visual interactive reports using Power BI and to identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them consistently.
• Ability to create and maintain Power BI Modeling, visualizations involving dimensional hierarchies, drill down, drill through and dashboards with advanced visualizations that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Consolidation of Data Model & Data Sets (Reuse, optimize, consolidate to minimal number) across different applications to develop Enterprise Semantic models
• Migration of non-Power BI Analytics into Power BI using best practice recommended scalable solutions
• Well experienced in custom columns, measures, time series metrics, KPIs and integrate custom visualizations, collaboration features,
• Exposure to setting up RBAC security, migration, Deployment Pipelines
• Familiarity with data preparation and data wrangling techniques.
• Understanding & hands-on experience in time series, statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and experience working with databases.
• Familiarity (nice to have) with any other analytics like OAC, Tableau, Google Domo or QlikSense etc…
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake or OCI or AWS or GCP.
• Ability to Structure ambiguous business problems and recommend visualization solutions
• Develop a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users/ business analysts to define technical and process requirements
• Troubleshoot data issues from the analysis criteria all the way to Data Warehouse and to the source systems
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Exposure to programming like Python/PySpark/Java scripting etc... Is a plus.
• Experience working with multiple database systems (on premise and cloud)
• Experience in performance analysis, reconciliation of data with source systems, data accuracy validation and testing.
• Knowledge of code migration, Change management – version control systems
• Understanding of ERP (EBS/ERP/PSFT/JDE/SFDC etc…) source system is a plus if not, Willingness to understand source system business process flow and learn the technical ER models
