Senior Software Engineer – Product
Work collaboratively with product owners, engineering managers, and teammates to deliver new and existing products, guiding the team through backlog translation into solutions.
Responsibilities
- Approach work with an Agile mindset, applying practices and principles wherever possible.
- Attend and participate in all sprint events, taking a leading role where required to ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with all team members to share responsibility for the sprint backlog and its success.
- Maintain overall code quality through peer code reviews.
- Identify improvement opportunities and agree on actionable improvements.
- Be available on a best‑endeavors basis to support resolution of Severity 1 and 2 incidents for applications owned by your team between 7am and 10pm local time on local working days, providing retrospective feedback.
Requirements
- E – Demonstrable experience of mentoring junior engineers.
- E – Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
- E – Strong, hands‑on technical skills across the Microsoft Stack and other key technologies, including: PHP, MS Azure, JavaScript/TypeScript (React preferable), MySQL, PHPUnit, Elasticsearch, GIT, XML, JSON.
- E – Excited by technology, with up‑to‑date understanding of the latest tools and frameworks.
- E – Ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly.
- E – Familiarity and good experience with Agile development methodologies and the complete product lifecycle from inception to delivery.
- E – Good understanding of software architecture, issues, and design.
- E – Good understanding of data and databases.
- E – Proven track record of working as part of a team to deliver software solutions that meet customer needs.
- E – Thorough and detailed approach with the ability to identify appropriate user/business solutions.
- E – Some experience of code reviews and coding standards.
- E – Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- E – An analytical mind.
