Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) is seeking a Senior Grafana Engineer to design, implement and manage enterprise-scale observability and monitoring solutions using Grafana across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments. You will integrate Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch, and cloud data sources, build dashboards, configure alerts, and automate deployments.

You will collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and Infrastructure teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive standardization of monitoring

Qualifications

• Experience building and managing enterprise-scale observability and monitoring solutions in Grafana.
• Strong expertise with Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, cloud monitoring, automation, and incident management.
• Grafana dashboard engineering, alert management, and platform integration.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures and security concepts across AWS and Azure.
• Ticketing/ITSM integration with ServiceNow or similar systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create dashboards based on business requirements.
• Design and manage enterprise monitoring and observability solutions in Grafana.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for infrastructure, applications, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Integrate Grafana with data sources like Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch.
• Configure alerts, channels, escalation policies, and incident workflows.
• Troubleshoot monitoring issues; perform RCA and ensure high availability.
• Automate deployments and administration using Python, Shell, Terraform, and Grafana APIs.
• Implement observability with OpenTelemetry and best practices.
• Monitor and optimize Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Azure environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and Infra teams; mentor junior engineers.
• Manage Grafana users, teams, folders, and permissions.
• Onboard new servers/applications to the monitoring platform.
• Coordinate with AWS, Azure, Linux, Database, Network and Security teams.

Experience required:

Must Have Skills:

• Having knowledge in internal Grafana, monitoring workflows and alert integrations.
• Good understanding in design, implementation, and managing enterprise-scale observability and monitoring solutions in Grafana.
• Have strong expertise in Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, cloud monitoring, automation, and incident management.
• Grafana administration, dashboard engineering, alert management, observability platform integration, and performance optimization.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of monitoring platforms. manage upgrades, migrations, backup, recovery, and environment standardization.
• Good understanding in Cloud AWS Azure and Cyber security concepts and Cloud architecture.
• strong collaboration inside Integrate monitoring platforms with ServiceNow and enterprise ticketing systems where required and aligns with internal Grafana monitoring workflows and alert integrations
• Grafana certified and has knowledge on ticketing tools like SNOW/ITSM process.

Role Description:

• Creating Dashboards as per business requirements.
• Design, implement, and manage enterprise monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for infrastructure, applications, databases, cloud platforms, and business services in Grafana.
• Integrate Grafana with data sources such as Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, and SQL, PostgreSQL, DB2 databases.
• Configure alerting, notification channels, escalation policies, and incident response workflows in Grafana.
• Troubleshoot monitoring issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and ensure high platform availability.
• Automate monitoring deployments and administration using Python, Shell scripting, Terraform, and Grafana APIs.
• Implement observability solutions using OpenTelemetry and modern monitoring best practices.
• Monitor and optimize cloud-native environments including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Azure platforms.
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, and Application Support teams to improve service reliability and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers, drive monitoring standards, and lead enterprise observability initiative.
• Perform day-to-day administration of Grafana monitoring environments.
• Create and maintain Grafana users, teams, folders and access permissions.
• Monitor Linux server health, CPU, memory, disk, network and other infrastructure metrics.
• Perform daily monitoring health checks and prepare monitoring reports.
• Onboarding of new servers and applications into the monitoring platform.
• Coordinate with AWS, Azure, Linux, Database, Network and Security teams for monitoring-related issues.
